It’s not guaranteed for CSM but much easier for LCF AND other colleges

i need help, i havent studied any form of creative subject since my GCSEs because I wanted to do neuroscience when i was in year 11 when i picked my a levels, now im in year 12 and hate my subjects and want to go back to study fashion and i was thinking i could just do a foundation year and then do an undergraduate course in fashion after that, but now i've found out you need to have a portfolio of work to even get into a foundation year, how am i supposed to get a portfolio for this? do i just use my GCSE work? or would i need to redo year 12 and take different more creative a levels??

you don't need to redo your a levels, just a portfolio tailored to whatever creative course you want to study. there are plenty of fashion portfolios on youtube but make whatever you can in the time you have to apply. also check the requirements on ual's website and see which foundation year you prefer to choose because they have two that are a bit different.

Your portfolio should be fine, there's been a few people who didn't study art previous to the foundation year. The portfolio is most important (and you of course lol) so don't worry so much about grades

I am on thé exact same boat! I’m in year 13 now. I did stem subjects because I wanted to do investment banking but really want to do art or fashion. My GCSE pieces were creative and I got a 9 but now I’m realising we will be competing against others who have done A level Art. Wish I listened to my art teacher but here we are.

Currently in the same boat. I'm a hobbiest who does digital art and I would like to get into the more traditional stuff. I literally don't have the materials to experiment with any type of traditional art aside from pencil and paper. I want to go onto this course to finally be able to, yet I needed to already have done it to get into the course??? I don't understand at all
