Just looked up my copy of Synchronicity and it is an electro sound pressing! Another fantastic sounding electro sound record I recently picked up is The Neville Brothers - Yellow Moon. Highly recommended.

I bought a cheap copy of Pride by Robert Palmer with a Quiex II pressing sticker on it. In trying to figure out what Quiex even is I found this. Just listened to Globe Of Frogs and am blown away! Can't believe I've never heard this. Need a copy now.

I have an original US pressing of the Police Synchronicity on the Quiex purple vinyl. It was givin to me by a friend early on along with a few others when I first started collecting in 2012. He just had some doubles and he let me have them. I didn't know what I had for a few years until I learned more during my long journey of vinyl education. It really does sound fantastic and if I remember correctly those were also mastered by Robert Ludwig which just makes it that much better.

I recently purchased a lot of about 50 records and one was 'famous last words' by Supertramp. I like to check each record on Discogs and found that the listing stated it was brown translucent. So I placed the record to the light and, sure enough, it is brown translucent! I also have to echo your comment about Nothing Like The Sun. It certainly is Sting's finest solo work and, maybe, his best work (I still lean towards Ghost In The Machine). I feel fortunate that I was able to purchase NM copies of Nothing Like The Sun and Bring On The Night for $13 total in an online auction. I just checked NLTS and it is brown translucent. Thanks for another informative video.

Talking about added value and regardless the content and music preferences, let's highlight the now defunt Windham Hill lable from mid-late 80's distributed by A&M and probably for that reason many copies were made by Electrosound. I replaced about 40 titles from CD to LP simply every record sounds considerably better in LP even in albums recorded in digital. Further, most early releases was cut by Stan Ricker (from MFSL fame) who was replaced by Bernie Grundman after 1982 or1983. It is still easy to find sealed and mint copies for a few bucks.

Please consider adding a 1-line synopsis and a link for your other three pressing plant videos in each of the description fields of the same topic videos (for them).

Will do, good idea. I also have a playlist for them for convenience 👍🏻

I think some of the Electrosound (ES) records were cut using digital machine or something. they sound good but never like the lps cut at Townhouse UK

Townhouse cuts are def hard to beat 👍🏻

A little late for a comment. You got to checkout "David and David" Boomtown. It's also a great sounding pressing from the Electrosound Group.

Aha, I have that one also I think, need to see if it was Electrosound. Never too late to comment… 👍🏻

cant find ´´Soul Cages’’ on Discogs. thanks for the informative video
thanks! i should have been more specific with my question,. i could find all Soul Cages LP versions, but i couldn’t find a version with ‘’Electrosound’’ pressing. i suppose then that all 1991 US pressings are on Quiex version? it is just not mention in Discog👍
@Universityofvinyl2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, for whatever reason they don’t mention the pressing plant but the linked copy is the one I have. If you click on the photos you will see the “B” electrosound code at bottom of label. 👍🏻
