Nicely designed guitar. Do the fanned frets make a real difference?
@AlexandraZernerRocks6 жыл бұрын
They definitely do - it's easier for the hand and the string tension is significantly better distributed, hence the strings don't sound out of tune because of unsuitable scale. If I had the chance, I would change all my guitars to multi-scale.

Hi Alexandra, I've been looking for such a guitar for days now and I don't know why it's so difficult to find this kind - fanfret 8 string with trem. Anyway, is it possible to know how much to get the same as yours? It will be one of the most beautiful day of my life to get it. And big tanks to you for the music :D

Can 'flutters' be done with the Kahler trem system? is it possible to g fr a BEADGBEA tuning, as its a multi scale, is it possible? It is a very beautiful Electric Guitar!
@AlexandraZernerRocks6 жыл бұрын
Flutters aren't as effective as on the Floyd Rose and this is the only flaw of Kahlers in my opinion. But since I don't use flutters it never really bothered me. If I understand correctly, you want to go a perfect 4th higher with BEADGBEA, right? If so, You would need a completely different multi-scale - something like 23.5" to 26" for example. The high A string would be very easy to break, so this is why you would need a very short scale on the top end. I was thinking about having a 10-string in C#F#BEADGBEA tuning but there the scales would be 23.5" to 28" which looks quite strange and I am not sure how comfortable it would be to play.

old video I know but I'm looking into investing in an 8 string with a kahler trem myself and there's very little information on them online. I'm curious if you found the 8 strings limiting when it came to the vibrato range. did the lower strings get too slack too quickly to take full advantage of dive bombing, or is there a way around that, or do you just not dive bomb enough for it to come up?
@AlexandraZernerRocks3 жыл бұрын
Here's a video of mine where you can see a bit more Kahler 8-string action: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4CzgqCslKeIZpY I am generally not so much into dive bombs but whenever I need them, I don't really find any tangible problem. The Kahler is generally a much softer tremolo compared to Floyd Rose and this is critical when you deal with 8 strings. My Kahler in standard tuning with 8 strings feels softer than a 7-string whole step down with a Floyd Rose, if this information is of any use to you.

Hey Björn! I'm glad that you like the switching system - I thought it's too weird for someone else to find it practical. I have mixed feelings about my accent - I really want to be able to speak a good English with proper pronounciation, but people seem to like my accent a lot... Bittersweet :D

I can't really say Bulgarian is nasal, actually quite the opposite. It's very hardly articulated, like Italian, and it doesn't have any nasal sounds except "M" and "N". French, German, Dutch and Scandinavian languages, for instance, are way more nasal than Bulgarian ;) I don't live close to the Black Sea - it's on the eastern border of Bulgaria and my city - Sofia - is in the western part, not very far from the western border.

@AlexandraZernerRocks5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I designed it :) And actually it's not hard to restring - you just lock the Kahler and put the strings like on a fixed bridge, then tune and it's fine. A floyd rose would be pain.

I am bored by the standard factory models, all the same with lots og different colors. But 29 frets are too much. My old friend had one with 29 frets done too (bacause of nicolo paganini). I think 24 is fine and the whole guitar looks better, but still his and yours design are out of this Fender design. The angle of the frets and your arm, hmmmmm.... I don`t like. The lower you go the harder stretch you have to do, and the whole guitar looks weird too. Again, why 8 string (if you sucks on a 6 string, you sucks even more on a 8 string and i stille have find 8 strings players who meke my attention). I know you also like Jason Becker, he did fuck that guitar PERFECT with good sound skills in his head, something is at the very few. I do my own guitars and because no one can make my dream. These days i draw new model and maybe i will show (people steal all the time, i do myself, ha ha). Kehler bridge sucks, i have to say
