Please can you explain leg side wides further? Law 22.1.1 clearly states “where the striker is standing or has stood at any point after the ball came into play”. According to law 20.5, the ball comes into play when the bowler starts their run up (or bowling action if there’s no run up). So when a striker shuffles towards the off stump towards the very end of the bowler’s run up (like Kohli and many others), shouldn’t the leg side wide mark be based on where the striker was standing as the bowler was starting the run up?

No doubt you are right 💯 but the margin is too small for the bowler as the shuffle area is too small and there are negligible chances that ball will pass through that area only and if it does, these marginal calls always remain with the on-field umpires. Hope u understood my point 😅✌🏽

what if batsman is shuffled while bowler is starting his run up and came to it's original position in front of stumps before releasing the ball and bowler throws a ball outside of wide line will it consider wide or not?... Can you please help us to know about this rule

Yes, it will be a Wide as the batsman is in its original position at the time of release. Doesn't matter how much he shuffles before the release.

@@CricketCordon i saw a clip from BBL uploaded 4 years ago where Jye Richardson is Bowling to Harper . Richardson bowls a wide delivery off the pitch when he sees harper shuffling on the off side. Harper smashes it in the off side for no run and it was not given a no ball.

The position of the ball at the popping or batsman's crease is considered final for declaring wide or not. It doesn't matter what it does beyond the popping crease.✌🏽

There is no such thing as a “wide line” marking on a cricket pitch. The lines you refer to are correctly called the return crease.

Ya I know it's a return crease in reference to bowling but it is commonly referred as the the wide line only in reference to a batter 🤷🏽‍♂️😑
