​@@Blue-qt8msthe weapon pool is already bloated. There's a lot of weapons that have the same stats, just different perk rolls or designs. Or weapons with the same design as another weapon, just with different stats and perks. That's 90% of the entire weapons collection in D2 and about 20-30% isn't even accesible anymore because most of the shit people paid for got removed. I'm sure adding 24 weapons and 45 pieces of armor to the game, wouldn't make other gear even more invaluable.

The gunsmith, vendor resets, xur, factions all gave something to log in and check every couple days. Getting rid of these really killed the daily log in fun for me. D1 as simple as it was had the formula. Don’t totally change what works, just refine the formula

It’s not laziness, its just another entire event that would take time off everything else, clearly you done know what prioritization means they already release 4 seasons, 3 extoic missions, 2 raids, 2 dungeons, 4 events, 1 new location, 1 campaign, 1 new strike and completely reworked and changed 2 strikes, 4 new pvp maps, added multiple huge QoL improvements and are going to add a new gameplay update in a few months with multiple new pvp game mode within the past 14 months and now your wanting them to add another new event that’d take hundreds of additional hours to produce, people like you can never be happy and are always wanting more

If Bungie ever does bring back Faction rallies or the factions I really hope they aren’t like Warmind. Grinding for those exotic armor ornaments and catalyst were probably the worst grind I’ve done across both games. You needed 50 levels to get both one of the catalyst and armor ornaments, it took about an hour of public events to get 1 level, you had one week to hit level 50 since there was only 3 rallies, and you had to do that 3 times if you wanted everything. Honestly, Destiny nowadays is not that grindy compared to Warmind Faction Rallies.

The thing about fanctions in d1 is it felt like the world was connected, doing activities give you rank for that activity, but also your faction rank, you were helping a lot at once, you felt like you were gaining progress, cuz your rank didnt reset every damn 3 months so everything you did WASNT useless

It was such a missed opportunity to have crucible be based around faction wars. They could've implemented a system similar to guardian games but it's a weekly thing where the factions are pitted against each other and lore will be developed based around that. For example a faction that is losing in stats or popularity could start to spread propaganda about fighting for them when you login to the game and if you switch you'll get some exclusive gear or cosmetics to said faction. Each faction could offer some passive abilities as well that could be enticing (or offer exclusive mods). Staying with a faction could grant you loyalty rewards. It could've made crucible far more engaging

Faction Rally could work these days, since we have rolled weapons now. Have singular, pretty good weapon to chase, but you can obtain it from any faction, and have an ornament for whichever faction you choose, and armor is obviously unique for each faction as always. You're not missing out on a great gun, so people are more inclined to pick a faction they actually like.

This video is making me realize how much I miss factions - they ensured that there was some kind of personalized and focused goal no matter what you were working towards, and made the game feel a lot more "yours" than just having Vanguard/Crucible/Gambit drops.

I was a proud FWC member in D1. I always grinder out a full set of armor and wore my cape. I always thought it was a missed opportunity that your faction choice didn’t affect more stuff. Like getting exclusive dungeons, missions, or crucible modes. Or having the various venders specialize in selling specific weapon types. The factions were good roll playing elements that made my guardian feel more unique.

The hunter Fwc armor was NOT yellow purple and brown. It was a burgundy color. The Fwc sets only got better, esp for hunters imo. And the colors are retro. They're not just black and white or red and white. There's beauty in simplicity yes, but fwc's retro color theme was way better and creative

Correction: there were other transmat effects in D1, there was a halloween themed consumable that would change your effect to a swarm of bats, but only until the next reset. There may have been others, but that's the one i know about for sure.

I don't know, man. Renown was an interesting concept. It was pretty cool stacking up to 5 then going to a Kost Sector - it was more difficult and much more fun. Also - the hologram.you carried about looked great!

As a relatively new D2 player, I picked up on the faction types from seeing their iconography in the Tower, faction armor sets, and at times weapons and emblems. I wish in some small capacity there were vendors present in the Tower or even the hanger, even if their purpose was to merely sell shaders and ornaments. We are already used to the seasonal weapon having Vanguard and Crucible shaders, so why not have a select few weapons introduced into the season have ornaments with simple logos and color schemes too? We already have some weapons with the War Cult emblem.

I think in destiny 1 they were originally special because there wasn't so many vendors. That changed in Taken king but for awhile there was Vanguard, Crucible, Gunsmith, and Faction of your choice. They got lost in the shuffle in D2.

In 2016, my Playstation 4 (along with all of my other possessions in my apartment) was stolen, I didn't get a new one until 2018. Whoever had stolen my PS had logged in to my Destiny account and deleted everything in my inventory and my vault. I had a huge rank with dead orbit, their ship, the exotic class items, a bunch of their guns and armor, etc. Along with raid weapons, rare drops... I could go on and on, I played the hell out of D1... And poof, in one night, all of it was gone. I was in contact with Playstation themselves and my local police department and of course neither of them were any help. Playstation's support "specialists" didn't even let me know that I should have changed the email associated with my account along with my password. So whoever it was had free range of my account for 2 years... I can't express how upset I was. I stopped playing D1 after I got a new PS4 and changed my account info but I started playing D2 again since it was relatively new at the time. I'm still very upset about my D1 account though, I don't know if I'll ever really get over it.

I hate the way Bungie didn’t even try to make Faction Rallies a fun event. Factions were so cool in D1 and were pretty unique while having some of the best rewards in the game. Looking back and when I played the Faction Rallies, it really felt like Bungie did not wanna improve or wanted to get rid of factions. Keep in mind that this was before D2 was f2p and now having Faction Rallies would probably be impossible because Bungie wouldn’t have a decent way to monetize them. I’ve been saying this since Bungie started messing up the factions and it really sucked to see them die out this way

There was some crap for these factions added in the game that I didn't like, so in D2, dead orbit and new monarchy went against the vanguard and future war cult went with them and after their leader died, they disappeared, along with dead orbit and monarchy being banished. Yet they didn't die, they just vanished from the official story

I feel the factions offered incredible diversity and opportunity to own unique weapons and armor with specific shaders and rather than invest in continuing or expanding it they cut it loose in favor of a more centralized and controlled loot pool. Which is what people dislike greatly. The loss of the gunsmith bounties, unique weapons back in d1 coupled with the loss of factions and what they had to offer was a travesty to say the least despite what fanboys here would say.
