Guys, Animenz has over 1.5 Million subscribers - he is at 1.67 million right now. This is extremely impressive, especially for an anime pianist - a genre that does not have the most listeners. This is for a good reason of course, simply put the man is a legend on the piano. But some of his most recent videos - since around the 10 year anniversary version of My Dearest especially - have not broken even 500k views. This can destroy a youtubers revenue. I hate to say that on his behalf, but it has to be said. Musicians do not make a lot of money, this is just a fact, but Animenz is making videos every week! Every week! The practice that goes into these pieces, the ideas, the fine tuning. Do you hear any wrong notes in those trilled octaves? That is actually insane to me, someone who is majoring in piano performance at college right now. It saddens me to see the low amount of views on this. Maybe it is just because youtubes algorithm is being stupid, maybe its the lack of people who check youtube now as to back then. I just hope that anyone who takes a second to read this will stop using other sources to listen to this, bear with the advertisement on each video, and continue to support animenz by clicking on the video each week. Animenz, thank you for all of the hard work that you do for us. I hope that the views will start building up again. Know that you will always be my inspiration to keep going, despite hard times that keep coming. Thank you.

I've felt the same way, and it's been pretty shocking to me that his videos haven't been receiving the attention that they used to, especially considering that I think these have been some of his best arrangements. With all due respect to other anime pianist youtubers, I just feel really weird seeing some channels that are blowing up, for reasons unrelated to the piano content itself. Meanwhile, Animenz has been pouring his soul into these weekly arrangements that are unbelievably beautiful and advanced, and hasn't been receiving the attention that in my opinion, he 100% deserves... It must be really demotivating for him, and I'm just very confused, and am starting to think that the target audience just isn't there anymore, for some reason. I come back and rewatch these videos many, many times, and I'm sure that many others do the same. Each upload becomes something that I'm able to treasure for years, and I wish there was some way I could support and give back to Animenz, because he has supported me so much.

I don't remember the last time I got this choked up over listening to something ;-; Watching this during the premiere literally left me speechless, the way you played it felt so... heavy. Emotionally, I mean, like the purest form of venting. It's pretty cruel that the greatest arrangements come out of times of greatest distress but... they really do stand out, I think this might be your best arrangement of 2020 (personal opinion ofc! I'm very biased towards emotional arrangements), honestly, it might be my favorite arrangement of yours ever. Now that I've cooled down I'll try to write down which parts stood out to me the most, though the entire thing from the first bar to the last is absolutely incredible! 0:20 the voicing - and I'll just say this here, the voicings in this entire arrangement are off the charts, SO clear 0:48 those crystal clear r.h. octaves 1:13 when the left hand plays that rhythm for the first time I'm having such a hard time picking specifics because I keep thinking "but the *whole* thing is so good" 1:56 THIS PART oh this part hit me like a truck, the perfect amount of space given to breathe right before it, and then after being in the lower registers for so long it's so soft, crystal clear, I love it 2:10 still in the part from before, those runs sound GORGEOUS 2:25 perfectly placed gliss, and the entire bit after sounds so, so powerful, perfect use of the three hand technique 2:40 THE LEFT HAND OCTAVES the resonance... oh how good that must have sounded live, and then the run, just wow 2:54 the buildup, love the upwards scale in the left hand 2:56 THE SOLO. So powerful, so dramatic 3:28 is just. Wow. The drop in volume sent chills down my spine, also the voicing really stands out 3:45 ;-; 4:09 this is what hits it all home, and I mean the entire part until 4:42 4:42 the ending - the sensitivity and the dynamics are literally perfect I sure just basically put the whole song up there as "standing out," but I really did love it that much I hope your rough patch is over now, Animenz! Thank you for continuing to create music for us, as always!

Emotionally powerful, dramatic, melancholic, and heartbreaking performance Animenz. This is literally everything I could ever want in a piano arrangement. The way you play the ostinato throughout the song, the refreshing second verse variation with interesting LH runs and scales, the shift between each melody register, the interweaving of right hand and left hand (like the beautiful connecting scales at 3:25) the heart wrenching right hand tremolo. Everything you portray here is just an outburst, when you let everything out on the piano, the equivalent of "musical crying" if you will. The piano arrangement and performance that shook me to the core, something I haven't felt since your Brave Shine arrangement. This arrangement is also something that inspires, because I also love arrange music in this sort of "lyrical style", and you push it even further with this video. This piano arrangement also reminds me why most of us got enamored by music and start our journey : it is the ability to share our stories, our struggles, our pain, our joy, our emotions, using the anime song we grew to love as a medium, "translate" and "personalized" with each of our piano arranging style. I can feel that you're fighting against your struggle the best of your ability with this video, your uncertainty, your pain, everything is portrayed beautifully. But above all...I wish you the best of luck my friend, knowing how hard of the road it must have been for you right now. I have faith, that once again you will emerge victorious from this struggle as well. Because time and time again, you are always a man that defy our expectations and keep moving forward no matter what, I'm sure you'll get through whatever you're facing this time too. I'll be there and keep supporting you as always -CSMPiano, your friend

Thank you CSM, especially your final paragraph with the 「defying expectations」 is one of main reasons why I am trying so hard every week, finding an even better arrangement technique, or coming up with original parts to enhance the arrangement - all this is made for the sake of bringing out the best for the specific「anime piano music」genre. I hope I can continue doing this as long as possible before I completely burn out, which is unfortunately the inevitable fate for many many artists.

This arrangement has shown me every aspect of Alice.Loneliness, power, love, sorrow, I can feel all kinds of emotions in this arrangement. Basically this song is the representation of Alice’s destiny. And it is also very surprising that you imitated the Erhu instrument so well. By using simpler patterns, you made this arrangement full of emotions and lyrical. The arrangement structure that you used was awesome as always. 1:56, the change you made to the verse was totally out of my surprise, it was amazingly dramatic and beautiful. Feels like stars in the universe. The running used 2:10 was so gorgeous. And the way that you arranged the final chorus was also absolutely fantastic. My favorite feature about this arrangement is the tremolo. As a Chinese person, I have listened to Erhu(二胡)for many years since my grandfather plays it. Your tremolos has reminded me of all the Erhu pieces that I have heard since a young child. Thank you so much. I wish you the best of luck with your channel and anime piano career man. Man what a wonderful cover. From the get go, you had me at the edge of my seat eagerly in anticipation of what the next phrase would bring. To me, this felt like the giant build-up of a final boss battle. Each verse and chorus incrementally upped the energy and complexity level. The third chorus intro floats into the highest register, giving a false sense of security and closure… before descending with a giant gliss into the musical extravaganza that is the final phrase. Through the simplicity of patterns in the intro/first verse/first chorus, you could really feel the bass resounding like bell tones through the musical fabric, a feeling that stays consistently throughout the whole piece. The second verse immediately brings on a new vibe of floating in an ocean of uncertainty, with the energy of sixteenths/triplet sixteenths, before transitioning directly into another high energy second chorus. The bridge intro. The RH tremolos gave me chills. And the rest of the piece… you know how it goes. One other tidbit that really stood out to me: the expressiveness of the first chorus outro, with the liberal use of grace notes. Though this is not an overly technical piece, the attention to phrasing and nuance in each "level's" dynamic expression really made this a fantastic cover for me. Great work! See you again next week in the comments!

Another amazing, powerful and emotional piano arrangement, which I like more everytime I listen to it. I didn't know the original song until now (so also thank you for showing me a new song of LiSA), but I fell in love with this arrangment immediatly after listening to it. Even though I didn't know the song and I had no connection to it at all, it packed me from the start until the end and I could really feel myself getting lost in this powerful play. You're the only one, whose able to awake such emotions with songs I've never heard before and that's definitly another reason why I love your piano arrangements so much and why I decided to write down my thanks and my admiration for your arrangements once again. To be honest I've listened to your songs huuuundreds of hours while various situations like studying, sitting in the train or even during workouts haha - you are by far my favorite musician and your piano arrangements have accompanied me through many hard, sad, lonely, tough but also happy, joyful and inspiring times. Your piano arrangements always get the best of my emotional side and they hold a very very special place in my heart. I like listening to anime OSTs in general and I like listening to piano covers - so of course I also listen to other youtube pianists sometimes. But no one ever triggered all these emotions and I didn't stick to them very long. However, I already stick around your channel since 2012, I always listen to your new uploads as soon as possible and I didn't miss a single one in the past 4 years. As I am not a musician I don't really know how to describe this, but your arrangements are so damn unique. If someone would play 10 different arrangements of a song I've never heard before, I'd bet I would be able to recognice yours and maybe that's also a reason why I cherish your music so much, because to me your music truly is special and unique. Long story short: I just want to thank you again for your hard work and your amazing piano arrangements that are beyond words - 2020 was a hard year for a lot of people and also for me, as my long awaited exchange semester in Japan had to be cancelled due to Corona. But your constant uploads in 2020 helped me a lot to endure these hard times and they are always something I look forward to.

Not to mention the song "Unlasting" itself is really attractive, Lisa's penetrative voice, the background chorus, the complicated combination of different instruments brought everyone into Alice's tears and sorrow. I once thought the reason why anime songs were always so fascinating was the link between the story behind and song itself. However, as time passed, Animenz transcription had changed so much. It was not just a transcription , not just a youtuber style upload job but more like an urge to told the story of you! This made me think of my favorite singer, Sayuri. I always felt like listen to the voice of somebody's soul shouting to me. The same feeling stroke me in this piece, too. I hope one day your skills will be recognised as amazing as they are, that you will be composing originals for upcoming new animes. Meanwhile and until then, I will keep tuning in to all of your arrangements. Nobody else can do it like you do: bringing out the spirit of each song.

Just finished the whole Sword Art Online series. Of all the ending themes, this is easily the best one. As a tribute, I’ll learn this on piano 🥰

Unlasting is one of, if not the one, most emotionally powerful OPs/EDs in recent years. And while it was sad to read you had a rough time in life when arranging it, that seem to fueled you to channel even more of yourself and your distress here, making the piece even more amazing, doing justice to already superb source. I'm really grateful that you share with us fruits of your work. We all have various issues and anxieties to deal with, smaller, bigger, but one thing doesn't change, listening to your performances are always very bright minutes of our days. It's ok to even shed manly tear on such occassions from time to time, like this time. :,-)

My favorite is actually the inconspicuous notes at 1:10, "so la....mi' re' " the last two notes are so beautiful even though they are just to fill gaps in the tune

This... This song has never made me as emotionnal as your arrangement did. I can not explain it, but I feel the pain in the notes, which strikes me to the core. I was holding tears throughout the entire song. Thank you for making this painfully magnificent arrangement and sharing it with us! You're truly incredible and I hope that you can find a ray of light in the darkness that surrounds you.

Thank you for sharing your extraordinary talent with us! I fully connected with your comment that your piano pieces reflect your current mood. I was classically trained on the piano in my childhood but college, marriage and a family thereafter veered me away from playing for many years. At 47 my amazing and vibrant father passed away suddenly and tragically, shortly thereafter my husband and I separated and my children moved away to college and university. The piano has been a great vehicle for helping me both explore and release emotions throughout this past year. It has been wonderful for me - who doesn't love powerful octaves in the lower ranges some days? and then the peaceful transition to softer pieces as inner storms finish their time with you. Please feel encouraged by your many supporters here! Keep playing, keep sharing your heart through the piano - we hear you and we are here for you.

*One of the best EDs of LiSA in SAO!!!* ✨🔥💯 Lyrics: Alone 一人きりでも Consciousness and spillage 平気と零れ落ちた強がり The day when they were too dazzling 二人の眩しすぎた日が So sad こんなに悲しい If you can live in Hitori ヒトリで生きられるなら I don't love someone 誰かを愛したりしないから Your scent your way of talking 貴方の香り 貴方の話し方 "A piece of love" still remains in my body. 今も身体中に "愛のカケラ"が残ってるよ My wish my wish is just 私の願い 私の願いはただ May you cry somewhere どうか貴方もどこかで 泣いていますように Always a new step いつも新しい一歩は Heavy and lonely 重くて寂しい Even if you are reborn もし生まれ変わっても I want to meet you again もう一度貴方に出逢いたい Midsummer sunlight Midwinter white snow 真夏の日差し 真冬の白い雪 "A piece of love" dances down during the season 巡る季節中に "愛のカケラ"が舞い落ちて I’m happy, but somewhere lonely 幸せなのに どこかで寂しいのは Because of my love bigger than you 貴方よりも大きな 私の愛のせい Keep your key 鍵は貴方が持ったまま Canary who lost the meaning of singing 歌う意味を失くしたカナリア In the dark birdcage 暗い鳥かごの中で Your scent your way of talking 貴方の香り 貴方の話し方 "A piece of love" still remains in my body. 今も身体中に "愛のカケラ"が残ってるよ My wish my wish is just 私の願い 私の願いはただ May you be happy どうか貴方が幸せで ありますように Unlasting world Unlasting world The course of love The course of love From everything think of you From everything think of you

It is damn awesome to listen to Animenz arrangements because you clearly can see how his emotions are played on the piano. It flashes me in every new video! Also the description is interesting because you can see his interpretations and work. I can totally relate why he’s playing LiSA‘s Songs because of her amazing voice and expression. Again thank you Animenz for your hard work! 🎹

Definitely one of my favorite arrangement of yours this year! I really like the fact the melody is played in such a high register, creating a nice and crisp contrast with the omnipresent low octave bassline. I hope next week will be a better one for you, even though I must admit you proved once again the best creative works often come out in specific emotional situations.

Everyone was talking about Gurenge, but something about Unlasting was so powerful and beautiful, and you've conveyed that so gorgeously, my emotions are in turmoil, and I love that x Thank you for this amazing cover as always x , I'm hoping to start piano again, and this time, I'm not giving up. Back then I saw it as a chore, was afraid of failure, and wouldn't put in the work. But now I realise how much it takes, and I want to be able to convey and inspire just like you and all these anime pianists I love out there.

Thank you for your amazing work. Your music, as well as your feelings & thoughts on the pieces, always bring me so much joy. You're one of the few on KZbin who don't make clickbait-y titles to fight for attention and just focus on producing quality content/music. You're very genuine and I appreciate that, and I'm sure many others here are as well. Thank you, again. Life is more colorful with your music.
