This song is a staple when they perform live and Brittney absolutely crushes it. Her vocal stamina after so many epic and challenging songs in their sets is must see live to really appreciate. And of course everyone else in the band are also fantastic performers. One of the best bands you can see live for a very modest price right now.

Those that get deep into UTA can really nerd out on the story as Brittney has track by track videos explaining how each song is telling the overarching story over the Apex and Abyss Albums. Not sure how deep a dive you are going for, however, to hear a variety of their songs you may want to hit up Soulbound and Legacy from the new album. If you want to dig deep just work your way through the albums, you can't go wrong.

One of my favorite UTA songs. Just saw them live a few weeks ago in Boston. Phenomenal show and the whole band is very friendly. They are even better live. If you see them live remember your light sabers! This song is from the perspective of the matriarch who has awakened the immortal to find her sons so that she can ritually kill them and achieve immortality. She promises the immortal freedom from his curse if he helps her but of course she ends up betraying him.

Happy new year, Anastasia! I just bought all your singles on iTunes. I don't know if this is the best way to support you, but I love your voice. I appreciate your analysis to Nightwish, Unleash the Archers, Jinjer... I own almost all their discography. Britney is fantastic, she is like a daughter of Dio with Bruce Dickinson, if that's possible. Tatiana is fighter. But it seems to me you are more like Floor Jansen. I think you are really talented. A lot of good musicians that have no opportunity to shine, so what I wish to you is good luck! Luck is what most talented people need now. Happy 2022!

If you want a bit of acting in another UtA video, 'General of the Dark Army' is a good one. (bit older video from them compared to what you've listened to) If you REALLY want to hear Brittney, check out the 'Brindisi' video she did with the lead singer of Lords of the Trident where they sing Opera together.

The woman who is playing the role of the evil Matriarch is actually the handler of the gyrfalcon named "Sabre". So she isn't an actress at all, rather falconry is her specialty. Makes it all the more impressive.

Yeah they are amazing. The song is from the album Apex. Basically if you want to get the point maybe have to make album reaction to find out what is about. All album is great. So choice is yours. Anastasia, the Apex and Abyss albums follow the story of the Immortal and the witch queen the Matriarch, in a high fantasy epic. No spoilers. After looking at UTA, you might want to take a look at Angra and Rhapsody of Fire. They are major influences on them. Both have released concept albums, both have very evident classic influence and Rhapsody has a high fantasy epic that covers eight albums, off the top of my head.

The last 2 albums this band released are connected and tell a story. The album Apex tells the beginning of the story about the conjuring of a cosmic entity that is hell bent on destroying the world and the newest album Abyss is the ending of the story where an Immortal being goes to war with the cosmic entity trying to keep it from destroying mankind. It's a very awesome story. Brittney Slayes is definitely one of the best vocalists in metal. I saw this band live this past December and Brittney sounds just as good live as she does in studio. You should react to the song The Wind That Shapes The Land by Unleash The Archers live at Alcatraz 2021. It's amazing!

@Anastasia Luna: This is but one "chapter" in the Immortal vs the Matriarch story -- which is both the Apex and Abyss albums. In this song, this is about the Matriarch commanding the Immortal to bring her sons to her, so she can kill them for a ritual that is supposed to take place during an astrological alignment -- all so she attain immortality, and with it, godhood. I'll put it this way: Unleash the Archers turned their albums into a Dungeons & Dragons role-playing campaign, and they chose 5 people at random to play the first campaign. Unleash the Archers is one of the best bands when it comes to its storytelling capability. Check out Abyss and Soulbound to hear more of the story, culminating in the final battle between the Immortal fighting the Matriarch in The Wind That Shapes The Land -- one of the most epic metal songs I've ever heard. And speaking of story-telling bands, I highly recommending reacting to Wind Rose, a metal band that bases their music off of the Dwarves in Lord of the Rings. The two songs I recommend are We Were Warriors and Returning Race.

The whole album is a concept piece. Each song tells a section of the story. So when you do your deeper dive. You will have to go deeper to get the whole picture. But glad to see you return to UTA!
