She does hit all the notes; the reason this still sounds a little less epic is because nobody is singing the second voice in the background, which is also pretty high. Maybe she can teach one of the guitar guys how to sing power metal as well 😁, and then they can also reproduce the harmonies live.

Also, the human ear perceives high notes as louder. You can see Brittney compensate for this by holding the mic a little farther away during the high notes. However, this effect doesn't really translate to the phone recording, so for us watching it secondhand, it just sounds like the high notes are a lot quieter than the rest of the song. Sometimes, you just have to be there in person :)

No way. Andrew’s a great singer, but sounds like more of a baritone. Not sure about Grant but I doubt he can get that high either. They physically can’t sing that high based on their anatomy.

@@MadiUk77 She sings at her physical limit in the studio, and she can't consistently keep it up under touring conditions. Even in this recording, in which she does fairly well, she straight up blanks on some of the high notes. She believes (maybe rightly) that her fans demand that she hit these notes live, but with the stress of travel, the smoky air, having to do this several times a week, she's just going to burn out her vocal cords. There are other live recordings on YT as well, and you see the same pattern of inconsistently hitting the high notes, hitting them thinly or not at all. She needs to develop more confidence in her fans, and ration her effort on tour more sanely - one, maybe two of these songs a night, and with the option to bail out if she's not feeling in top form that night. She probably also needs to write future albums more conservatively, so that she can sing on tour what gets recorded in the studio. Otherwise I suspect she's got one more album like this in her (after Abyss), and then we may never hear from her again. This isn't what anyone wants to believe, Brittney probably least of all, but reality doesn't conform with fantasy. She's done amazing work in the studio, and she's pretty fun to see live (I still recommend seeing UTA in concert, despite all the rest I've written here), but if she blows out her voice, she's not the only one who suffers. The whole band is super-talented, and it would be a shame for things to fall apart because of a denial of the need to look after her voice better.

@@MichaelDemko herm.... maybe when she's past 70 years old yes /// she is singing with a classical training, she is NOT straining her voice. She reach high and lows with TECHNIQUE not brute force .... and if you want an example on how it's actually possible to do this .... go see Michael Kiske live in in the 80s and now ... hits all the notes the same ... cause hem like her, does it by technique. This recording (and most live recordings of UTA) are crap, half the frequencies and volume from her voice isn't coming through and obviously live there are not harmonies to support her so she sounds a different - POWERFUL as ever, just less layered. Last but not least, she is human, maybe one day she is not 100% and she might miss a note or two ... are you 100% perfect in your job every day ? always right and never make the smallest mistake ?

if i recall, she was sick going into this show. shes very openly admitted she will perform even feeling like total trash and she almost always nails it. She has a fairly extensive vocal background, and she uses everything she has to adapt to situations. she is amazing, stop denying it.
