It's so amazing to me how people get bent out of shape when you say you use traction control, as if it's somehow a bad thing. The truth of the matter is, real world GT3 cars use traction control in real world races.

@@gussinger6939bingo. Idiots like this guy don’t realize how much more money manufacturers spend on developing traction control technology compared to video game developers. Not to mention there’s no one-size-fits all approach to traction control considering one car can handle wildly different from another. TC in GT just sacrifices top speeds on corners for slightly more grip. It makes sense on cars that feel undriveable, but otherwise they’re just training wheels.

Throttle modulation is probably the biggest physics improvement they've made to this game! It was the first thing I noticed and it honestly feels more natural to not be able to just mat the throttle at the apex of a corner. I've driven enough real cars to know how they feel when exiting a corner that I don't use the throttle like an on/off switch.

Here's another tip I've found, experiment with the tire compounds. Using Racing: Softs all the time everywhere will hinder your performance if it starts to rain for example. You're gonna be used to that high grip, but once the rain comes, you're not gonna be able to control it for the life of you. And if the race has Tire Wear and Fuel Consumption on, you're gonna be gonna be pitting a lot to replace them. Racing: Hard doesn't mean they're made of bricks and have *no* grip, just slightly reduced grip but greater durability. Was doing the 450,000 race on Sarthe in a Carrera, had it on Intermediates for the rain the hits ya at lap 3 or so, all was well... until the game decided to go past drizzle and straight into torrential. Trying to hit 170KPH, no go. The back tires would lose all grip due to the severe hydroplaning. But the Intermediates could handle the wet roads, whilst all the other cars were on Racing: Hard, Medium, and Soft. They had to slow WAAYYY down to where I nearly got a 1 minute lead on them. So cruising under 170KPH, I got myself into the pits, swapped out for the Wets and it was smooth sailing from there. Rain passed and I never had to swap out because of the puddles all over the track.

Funny thing about the 24 hour Le Mans race... if you get out into P1 by the first lap and watch the weather radar closely, switching to intermediates before it starts pouring, the AI never does and blows past you in the pit eventually piling up later down the track as you pass them all. I've lapped the entire group with this tactic and end up finishing the race on lap 6 almost every time. Around 850k with the clean race bonus. Also the weather radar is severely underrated, I watch that thing like a hawk and never get surprised with bad weather anymore.

Something that it is worth to mention on GT7 is the new pedal calibration settings. They do affect your driving drastically. The other week I was doing good in the dailies using an alternate account, having fewer incidents and better results and so. Then, when I tried another account, it looked like everyone wanted to punt or ram me off the track. Some drivers even told me I was "break checking them"... Then I realized that on this account the pedal calibration settings were on default for my G29 wheel (min 5% and max 60% for braking for instance, when I actually I had 0,5 % and 100% respectivelly on the other account). Once I changed the settings to my liking things were normal again. Actually, punters and rammers were still there but now I could defend better too.

Haven’t tested them all yet but I have tested the Ferrari, Mustang, Corvette, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, NSX , Mercedes, Nissan, McLaren and BMW times are ranging from 1:56.3- 1:56.9 for every car except the BMW… For some Reason the BMW GR.4 is just way off pace as it sits. Yep, you can still be braking but you don't want the nose of the car to be hunkered down and pushing all the weight onto the fronts.. as soon as you ease off a bit your car turns 200% as effectively :P For some cars I'm messing with the brake balance and pushing it more towards the rear to help me reduce understeer if I'm a bit heavy on the brakes.. but that's probably just encouraging bad habits!

You don't trail brake to the "middle of a corner" as you suggest. Rather you are slowly releasing the brake pedal as you approach the corner apex. Additionally, how you release the brake pedal also contributes to the traction available on the front of the car. If you release too quickly you can upset the weight balance by allowing weight to transfer to the rear of the car. Or if you are back to throttle too early and or heavy you end up with understeer and you will have to lift. Regarding your comment on turning too early. With few exceptions, in any corner with a radius that opens you will want to turn in early, conversely, if the radius tightens you ideally turn in a little later to maximize exit drive. Your comment on carrying corner speed is not a constant. It is sometimes necessary and faster to sacrifice speed to ensure you can properly place the car for the next corner that precedes a straightway. Typically any corner that leads to a longer straight will have a higher value and may require the driver to sacrifice speed in the previous corner/s in order to get the best exit out of the corner leading to said straightaway. Of course the longer the straight away is the more important this becomes. At least this is how it works in the real world on real race tracks.

@unleasheddrivers1281 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! I plan to do more guides about the GT7 license tests including some with hairpins. In those videos I can try explain more about it. But to try give a bit of advice, particularly on gran turismo 7, be very patient and gentle with how you apply the throttle coming out of hairpins. At low speeds it is really easy to lose traction and slide around. Make sure your car is in a straight line or close to it before you get harder on the throttle. For entering hairpins, dont turn towards the inside of the turn too early. Brake and stay on the outside of the track until you have slowed down a lot and then only deeper in the braking zone, then begin to turn around the corner and turn the wheel a lot. The slower your car is going, the more you can turn the steering wheel for grip. I hope this helps a bit

It really is, the countersteer assist that doesn't turn off is really no help except for the computer taking over and cranking the wheel all the way to the left or right and wrecking the car.

Im not new to racing games be it Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsport but in GT is there a way to limit extreme brake (body) dive? Would it be Roll cage or lowering suspension?
@unleasheddrivers1281
@unleasheddrivers1281 2 жыл бұрын
Possibly buying the extra body ridgitity upgrade, you could stiffen your front springs, stiffen front anti roll bars and maybe play with the damper settings like the front compression settings maybe

great video. I have come upon a problem lately on gt7. I have a ps4, with a thrushmaster T80 wheel and peddle. My cars are jerking left and right, making me slam into walls, and off the track. Can you please help me with this. I do not know what is causing this. Is it the ps4 system, steering wheel, or the game itself. Thank You

Very good. Throttle and brake control will take some time to get right on a controller. If I race perfectly without using these, it seems I am finishing every race in the middle of the pack.

The Audi R8 is a 4WD that's why the TC is necessary. Like the R32. But the American cars, and most of the other is DOWNFORCE that will help tremendously. specially with the American cars. Too much power makes you spin and loose control even when you are leaving a corner and you have a straight. I my self sometimes don't like to put wings on the car if it doesn't look good, but they are the ones that help with the downforce and lets you change it in tunning. don't forget the front diffusers as well.

To run with out tc it just takes a bit more tuning in the differential if you are running tc on then no need to even deal with tuning the differential just leave it stock and tc controller will figure it out.

Yeah but the problem is that Some cars can break and stare at the same time while breaking the car never steers on which direction it will keep going straight instead of going to the intended direction

Try braking about 80% or more of your braking in a straight line before the turn. It don't seem like it at first but it's faster to come into a turn slow and take good angles going out than to come in fast and exit without momentum.

Problem is with GT7s new snap physics is they seem to be tailor made for people with good wheels and pedals and good solid rigs. But you try getting 20% throttle with a little steering on an eBay stand... especially when 21% throttle is too much and causes the snap spins. The rwd cars are too keen to spin, I has a stock MX5 snap out into a violent 360 at 20mph with 0% throttle so they've made it to aggressive to be a handful... for lots?

Yeah my issue is knowing how to make a turn, do I hold the brake and accelerate? Do I just tap brake? Etc. And then the front and rear brake do I leave it on 0? Do I put it up to 5? And then the TCS, where do I put it?

U forgot to mention that a good driving setup can shave u a few of something depends how good u incorporate this and x2 more racing knowledge and micro tuning and super important throttle control, some of these Speed Demons don't break any more, they just downshift and throttle control it to the fullest. No matter the position u are aming for, always show respect to others on track and follow racing rules without destroying game for others. Thank u my co racers and see ya at the track, respect from your friendly racer TwistedMetal
