Ermmm actually no, very heavy car, holden engine has nothing to do with alfa, pretty slow, gearbox is opel and sound is mediocre as well.... Alfa romeo busso on the other hand would be proper thing

@@MrTare071 The gearbox is fixed just by replacing the stock transmission oil with a Castrol 75W-90, day and night difference. With the new oil, the transmission on my Brera is one of the best I've ever tried. Add in a Novitec sport shifter and you're in for a surprise.

@@MrTare071 That's just your opinion :). I happen to own one and I love it on the open road. Such a great GT, it might not be as fast as others but I don't care about top speed as long as I enjoy the ride, and with the Brera I certainly smile every time I sit in the car.

I had some 10 Alfas across the years. In 2008 I bought a brand new Brera 3.2 q4, based on v6 heritage and stunning looks. It was a massive dissapointment: very heavy around corners, poor handling, numerous electrical problems, very-very poor visibility and the biggest problem: the GM based v6. Slugish and very thirsty ( 20-22liters/100km in town). Shame for a very appealing design. After that I got a 156 Gta SW...it is a missile compared to Brera 3.2, much agile and I consistently get 13-13,5l/100 in town. The busso 3.2 is a mechanical masterpiece that is very underrated and beats other brands by miles!

I took both the 3.2 and the 2.2 for an extended test drive (dealer threw me the keys and said "have fun"). The 3.2 didn't really start to stretch its legs till you got going over 60Kms - not so great for city driving - and the AWD just 'soaked' up the first bit of snappiness, again no good for quick lane changes in the 20-40kms range, which is mandatory in Sydney traffic, especially peak hour. Good for grand touring in the snow, perhaps? The 2.2, even with the weird 1-2 shift/clutch/rev its nuts off, dance was the far more agile - city - car.

@@ahmedp800 I had ZERO engine problems in 5 years of ownership (but that's 9 years ago now). Actually, zero problems on the car at all. I'd hazzard a guess the 2.2 would hold up better than the 3.2, it was a standard "block" that GM used in many vehicles - and is supposed to be very reliable.

I wouldn't be that sure that the Busso engines did a much better job in this heavy car in combination with awd. The V6 with a supercharger is the only really suitable engine to get the power this car needs. Nevertheless I also love my 2.2 although it is slower than a A4 diesel

The FWD version reworked by ProDrive in UK is actually a much sweater, more rewarding car, even though it only has a 4-pot and missing a drive shaft. Properly balanced with proper feedback and response. The problem with this beautiful car was ALWAYS the shockingly massive weight hidden within its compact dimensions, the big engine and heavy drive train is part of that problem.

Yep spot on. I managed to find the 3.2 Prodrive version and can totally agree with the comments here. I came out of x2 159 2.4 JTDM's and can attest to the weight penalties. I wouldn't have bought a Brera if I didn't find my car (ok maybe if I came across a 1750 TBi version). The handling is very very sweet, so is the (underated) 3.2 engine with the exhaust changes.

The motor is not that bad. The Busso could not meet emission targets so a replacement was needed. But good luck getting parts like timing chain kit. They're made out of the same unobtainium that my GTV6 parts are made. A mate with a 159 wagon 3.2 couldn't find parts after a local garage changed his timing chain and left sludge (swarf) after flushing the motor. It blocked oil feed to the big ends, and they're not happy running without oil and it turned the big ends. New parts are very scarce and he managed to get the only kit he could find in Aussie. The local specialist in the Midlands has the same problem with his customer 3.2 cars. Busso parts are far easier to find.

@@SferaChannel same for the 159 (which gave to fathers in a corner maybe the sexiest station wagon ever?), in the name of a global normalization they didn't recive what they deserved (at least there were awd versions)...i mean, alfas are generally always pleasant to drive, but purists (and not only) are tortured by this games..then they do giulia and stelvio, which are bloody awesomobiles but look like a hyundai...i tell you, just imagine giulia/stelvio looking like 159/brera! and again, the same will happen with the tonale, divine aesthetic but nothing else than a jeep compass 'dressed in italy'...!

Роман Андрюхин покупал китайские, 50$ за 2. Было что ругались парковочные огни, их я тоже на лед поменял. Оказалось что лед которые я в них поставил были без обманки, заказал другие с обманками 7$ за 6 штук, и все прошло. Но повторюсь, ругались только парковочные огни, так как были без обманок.
