He has done Medicine Man. Maybe it’s been taken down. I think Medicine Man is Eminem’s final testament about how he feels about all the noise. He’s white, he’s this or that. He sets it straight in that joint and pays homage to Dre. His verse goes from past tense to current tense to future tense. And I say “hell yeah!” The entire song is structured to be timeless. Whether Em and Dre are long gone from this earth, that song lives on forever. And isn’t that what we all want to do is live our life and leave this earth better for it?

I love the Beastie Boys and if you listen to them now, it’s so in your face obvious that Eminem was heavily influenced by 3 white Jewish boys who started as a punk band, decided they liked hip hop and did it their way. What I think is most genius about this song is it’s named Berzerk and it’s samples “Stroke Me” by Billy Squire through the entire song! Eminem loves comics and Viking lore. And if you don’t know what a Berzerker is, well it’s a fighter that snaps and kills everything and everyone in his path. And when Eminem goes full slim shady? No one is safe from his lyrical pen game. Run and hide even if a Berzerker is your best friend because in Viking lore… well that’s one man that will take down every combatant on both sides! Lil Wayne started that shit I think and I HATED it. Everyone thought all those bars were so clever, which some were, however it completely ignored and threw away the rest of the recipe for hip hop I found. That’s when people stopped focusing on cadence and flow and put all the emphasis on cool or clever bars. Didn’t matter if it rhymed, if it had any connection to the next line just as long as it made listeners look at each other and go “ohhh catch that?” Then it was god level rap 🙄.
