The way he brings that voice and that stuff towards the end is yet another example of how a lot of so called rappers need to take a step back and realize they just simply can't compete. Not with hi storytelling and certainly not with his writing and imagination. Still gives me chills.

The line about him driving around for 9 fricken hours and 45 minutes now at 3:10 or so into the song, that line is such a crazy line. Eminems discography up until this album, and this is the first song on the album, was 9 hours and 45 minutes.

This is such an overlooked masterpiece, I absolutely loooove this song so much, it doesn’t matter how many times I listen to this song, I get chills every time I hear that last verse, it’s easily in my top 5 verses he’s ever written, that ending… God… That line about an artist trapped in his own drawings, gives me goosebumps and paints such a vivid picture of Em as a lil boy who’s only safe place was to escape with his love for drawing to escape all the bad things happening in his life at that time… Love Em so damn much…

The ringing in your ears - He had really bad tinnitus for a while; the ringing in his ears/head was so loud, to the point he couldn't hear himself over the music and had to put 'extra midrange' in his vocals (which lead to fans complaining about why he was shouting/MGK's Why you yelling at the mic?)

It's a sequel to Stan, while also being about Em's anxiety about his career, while also being about trying to keep Shady bottled because he's matured past that and wants to be more conscious and serious in his writing because he knows his career is on a timer now. It's literally the rare "perfect" track for any artist. It's up there with Stan and a few others in terms of tracks that my grandchildren will hear one day and ask how it was to hear that when it was released.

You're correct, no other rapper can do this, not only story tell, but make a better sequel than the original classic 20 years later. There's something different about this man, and the best dead or alive can't touch him, and whoever says different is just a hater, their favorite rapper couldn't compare, and I dare them to put their best against Eminem's shit like this. We'd be attending an early funeral after the first couple of bars.

Right as he goes into that "outro" you hear the car crash over the bridge and hit the water, this coincides with the airy/wet/atmospheric change and feel of the production, it almost feels like you're going under with the car. Drowning as he starts to sink into the thoughts he's conveying and simultaneously it's like he's seeing his life flash before his eyes "im your time that's almost up that you haven't acknowledged" both in rap and because he's drowning in the car

One part that not many people seem to catch, but it’s where I realized this song was from Matthew’s perspective, is when he says that Eminem “seems to be doing just fine.” In Stan, Eminem’s response letter tells Stan, “I think you’ll be doing just fine.” He says it in the same tone as in Stan. He does that with a few lines. But, this song is a masterpiece in storytelling and really, really marked a change in Eminem. Chills.

Somehow I accidentally heard this song on KZbin. That last verse *blew my mind.* I realized there was so much more to him than I'd thought. So I dug into his discography and picked up a hip hop education from KZbin reactors and ultimately became an unlikely stan 😆 And this stuff he does with these personae here and elsewhere is amazing and deep and playful and vicious and satirical and serious as shit by turns, and that's a huge part of why I'm so excited for his upcoming album.

the interesting thing about em is that he's so full of self doubt that he's convinced that every album he does is going to be his last ride before he becomes a washed up has-been that nobody cares about it, so he decides to go out with a bang by doing something daring that challenges the medium itself. and when he does that, he rockets to the top again. he never fades away because every album is written like his last hurrah

One of the best songs Eminem made. I just heard this song last year. Omg I was so amazed. Listening this song as I was working, just amazing
