Works ONLY with soil-grown plants. A microorganism in soil "fixes" nitrogen and that microbe is not found in water, so using this fertilization method with hydroponics will fail. I have used this method for probably 40 years as a "kick starter" for compost. Peeing on compost speeds up the decomposition by a factor of 2 or 3 -- times faster!

I can tell you from experience that "liquid gold" is fantastic on citrus trees! Biggest lemons I've ever seen, and delicious!👍✌

😂🤣 thanks for letting us know! A friend of mine had a tree that produced masisved lemons, they had two dogs peeing on the soil every day 😅

Yeah I've been doing it on my citrus for years. It's free plus you save water not flushing.

My land is completely woodchipped. I mix my grey water with my urine and poor it in the more open areas. This helps break down the chips to soil so I can put down more woodchips faster. As a Fertilizer both for inground and in pots I just add one table spoon of urine to my watering can on occasion or if I see there is a need. By using my urine this way it takes out the "worry" about where, how often etc. As always, if it looks complicated just simplify it to your needs with a conservative/err in caution mindset. It really isn't "Rocket Science."

Sounds weirdly like English. But serially, The Humanure Handbook's an interesting read.
@GreenthumbsGarden2 жыл бұрын
Ooo Humanure, sounds sketchy at a first glance 😅 I've seen very interesting toilet builds which I would love to make if I had my own place with land. Its a dry bed and you use wood shaving to dry the stools quickly. once its full you move the toilet to the next deposit and when the 2nd is full the first is cured and ready to use. Was just like earth in the end. I would still only use it on plants I weren't feeding directly from though.

@@GreenthumbsGarden Right enough, but that's what the book's for, after all. It's well worth a read. Garbage in, solid gold out - but you have to wait a year or two. Imagine, buying pre-fertiliser, every time you score your food, or grow your own. There's perfection in the cycle of nature. What's the difference between cow, horse and people manure anyway? That's why manure needs to be WELL rotted. Misplaced fastidiousness is confined, only to the ignorant. You'd have to be a special kind of nitwit to crap on your cauliflowers.
