I am excited to try this! I live in Virginia and i am growing blueberries, raspberries, figs, persimmons, apples, grapes and mulberries in my large back yard. Cherries will be a great addition to my garden. Wish me luck!

I am going to buy mild soup tomorrow and mix with the oil you mention and water. thanks for sharing met

After soaking them, do you put the seeds into the freezer or non-freezing part of the fridge?

My thumb is two and a half inches so I'm above average correct?
@GreenthumbsGarden7 күн бұрын
🤣 I have no idea how long the average thumb size is. What I meant to say is the first joint of the thumb that contains the nail. Normally, I was always brought up being told that's more or less an inch.

I recently purchased such sensor online. The humidity detection accuracy is way off, like 8% to 10% off. I don't know whether my unit is a dud or it's normal. Whoever uses such sensor should check its calibration before deployment. Cheers.

Great video. Thank you. One question. What happened to the land you where on before, Was it redeveloped?
@GreenthumbsGarden8 күн бұрын
The owner sold the land, and the new owners are redeveloping it all. 🫤

What soil mix do you have under the moss?
@GreenthumbsGarden8 күн бұрын
The ones I have in moss is just all sphagnum and a little perlite. The ones I have in soil is coco fiber with silica and perlite. Coco fibre can make a great medium but needs extensive treatment to washout the salts before use. Up to 7 soakings in rain water for 8 hours each and then draining away the water. But it's cheaper and more sustainable that sphagnum peatmoss.

If you go to the orchards during picking and talk to the farmer you can get split pit peaches. Tice the size don't last as long but the shell on the pit is already in half. Just pull it apart and take the seed out

I like bigger fruit trees and I don't buy grafted cherries. I have some wild ones at the back planted from seeds by my mum years ago and they are huge trees and give tonnes of big juicy cherries. Better than nursery cherry trees

I'm in south Florida. You said at the beginning of the video that if it doesn't get cold for at least 45 days, it probably won't produce fruit. Peaches are my favorite fruit and south Florida is my favorite place to live. Hmmm. I'm going to try it anyway & see what happens. 🤣 Thank you for the valuable video!

I just put the whole seeed with shell in warm water in my window sill, refreshing the water every few hours or so (cos I’m that dedicated 😆) and some have sprouted in just 3 days

Will they fruit or do you need to plant two types of cherrys (male+female) several feet apart in order for it to bear fruit?
@jzwalz51robin4514 күн бұрын
The seeds are usually genetically different from the parent plant, so the fruit may not be the same.
@dermanpardon14 күн бұрын
Does it have to be ripped to germinate?

Then, 20 years later you have a tree that might bear good cherries

one question i have been collecting food scraps in a plastic bin which is kind of air tight. Today i opened and saw, white mould or white fungus , some parts are even black mold. can i bury them in trench composting. Will it be harmful to the soil.
