Smite and Sustain are the best I’ve found for Gandalf the Grey. But I wanted to point out that Witch King’s massive nuke/burn damage army with alchemists is unbeatable without White Council and the -50% burn damage on the top branch of White Council. That’s why many T3 good commanders have that same tree for White Council. :) Also, Sauron does continuous Focus damage so that same skill has -50% focus damage, which is nice.

Lastly, I believe that Mock Battling should be prioritized immediately. Focus on your easy Ring Upgrades early on to unlock perks that focus on Stamina, Ability Points and EXP specific to Mock Battling. The higher a commander’s level, the easier it will be to take over high level tiles. Personally for next season what I plan to do is, as soon as I figure out where I’m located in the map, I’ll find an active Fellowship member near me and we will coordinate and agree to team up to take out high level tiles until we both own a 300 tile.

Also, focus damage is KEY to defeating troops like Oathbreakers. Oathbreakers, or ghost troops, should only be targeted by commanders with high focus damage instead of physical damage

Also marchwardens or noldor longshots who ignore oathbreakers avoidance. And faramir & haldir have skills that makes the army to ignore avoidance

Also before anything, if you’re a good faction, focus on Eowyn. She has heal perks like Gandalf AND she’s best suited for mounted units. Get her to Respect Level 5 as soon as possible!

Gandalf should have high dmg units since his focus is so high. The army can deal a shit load of dmg and they don’t take dmg the first rounds so he should have like elves archers and rohan cavaliers

Can confirm, the purple smite weapon is better on gandalf than the legendary, because smite gives a chance to proc the additional heal every time (so 50% chance to proc), whereas the legendary only gives you a 50% chance to have a 50% to proc (aka 25% chance to proc).

The other weapon is going to do more damage on average, but if you have Gandolf if built for the heals then smite is correct.

In thinking about it, it seemed to me that using items that add HP to my army gave them a better chance to survive attacks from the enemy so that they could be healed by Gandalf. Just a thought. Thx for the great videos.

If you don't have money put into the game for better equipment it doesn't matter what Commander you use for example a free to play player Commander level 40 getting beat by a commander that's only level 27 because they spent money in the game

I forgot to ask about something .. I have the smoking pipe with sustain . But I always have the legendary smoking pipe that heals on the 4th round only .. which would you go with?

TBH I haven’t decided that very same question for myself. Right now I’m using the epic pipe with sustain at 4* strengthen and 3 refine

I got him at respect 5 he truly a great commander just slow getting places. Which also doesn't help since I use the dwarf t4 units.
