It didn't work for me, the icon wasn't shown in the drop down list... see attached details copied form another web site. I liked the idea but I use WhatsApp for texting. Thanks anyway. 3. Send an iMessage This may sound weird but iOS 17 Check In doesn’t work unless you’ve sent or exchanged messages with that contact. In our testing, we were able to send a Check In after we’ve sent an iMessage to the contact. Prior to that, Check In feature wasn’t working. In fact, we tested this multiple times with multiple contacts and got the same result. It showed “Add recipient to send” messages all the time. This might be a bug at the moment, but get things done without any fuss. So, make sure you do not skip this.

Would love to use this feature but absolutely can't get it to work. I have IOS17 and so does the person I want to ""check in" with. I always get "Check in is not available to send to this recipient." I looked up every video and instruction about how to fix this problem....and none of them work. Even went to Apple help section and followed their instructions. Nope! Am frustrated! But, I will keep trying. Love, love all your videos and recommend you to everyone!

Make sure in (both of your) settings for messages that iMessage is ON 💡

Only works with iMessage with other iPhone users and both users have to be on iOS 17
