Yes! I remember that in November, 1969. "NO PHOTO!!!" Also remember seeing rolls and rolls of exposed film hanging outside the entrance door and signs saying this is what will happen to your film if we see you using a camera inside!!! I had a 35mm Minolta camera and was able to hold it down to my side and simply guess at taking a picture (by 10 second time exposure, no flash) of the center portion of the ceiling called "Creation" . . . God's hand touching the fingertips of Adam . . and I guessed almost 100% perfectly!!! I got the shot and it was centered in the frame!

Hello Debbie and thanks for watching. This tour is really special and because it's so expensive, tour operators don't offer it every day. And I've also come to realize this tour is usually not available in winter, as there is low demand due to the low season. When are you coming to Rome? If you are coming in the very near future, you many not find this tour available. If you are coming from May - September, you are more likely to find this tour being offered again. Please note there are other tours that offer early-morning access where you will be among a considerably smaller crowd inside the Sistine Chapel. They are not the same as the tour I did, but it will give you a chance to be in the Sistine Chapel and enjoy it without the huge crowds that flow in during the day. www.romewise.com/vatican-museum-tours.html

@@Romewise My pleasure! It really was very good and I liked it a lot. My husband is a little hard of hearing and so, to him the music sound level in his videos is fine, but it really detracts from the video or even drowns out the speech! He knows that and asks me to watch before he publishes anything now. But his earlier work sometimes has that sound level problem. I’m glad you took my observations as they were meant to be ... not put-downs, just my own personal view. Keep doing what you love and inspires you. Much love 💕🐝

We as people, Christians, everyone need to see what is in our heritage. We believe what is written what is passed down. Why should only a few have access. Open things up, let us marvel at treasures, artifacts, art,; good or bad, it is ours not a select few. It’s like the Shroud of Turin. Settle once and for all, let a true sample b carbon tested. There appears to b no way that is a fake. Look at it, look at the facts, put urself in 13th century and show me how someone knew what they knew about the brutal treatment of that man, that man who we believe to b the Son of God, the most influential and wonderful person that’s has ever walked the planet. But the nonsense from the early carbon dating to rest. Let the world enjoy, revere the shroud that wrapped the body of Jesus and clearly contains evidence for the passion narratives as well as the supernatural event that followed. What are people afraid of? In John, pilate asks “What is truth”. Indeed, what is truth let us all know truth snd not what some conjure in their minds as a way of protecting an institution.

Which tour did you take? The early morning or the 'skip the line' small-group tour?
@Romewise5 жыл бұрын
Hello Geneva, and thanks for watching. The early morning tours are a good way to get some quality time inside the Sistine Chapel with very few people. However, there are many tour groups that offer this so you will not really be completely alone. And soon after you come in, the regular crowds start to pour in. Most of the tours of the Vatican Museums bill themselves as "skip-the-line", and in fact, even just booking a regular entry ticket in advance will allow you to skip the (long) line. Just know that skip the line does not mean no line. You will have a shorter line than people who don't book in advance. Also, everyone has to go through security so there is no way to skip that line. Please take a look in the description of this video. You will see a link to the tour I took. It was a very special tour, not a regular morning tour. This one was late in the day, and we were in the Sistine Chapel AFTER HOURS, which meant really being alone in there. It was with Roma Experiences.

Disappointed in this video. The Bramante staircase seems to be a ramp but the video showed so little of the actual staircase it was impossible to be sure. All we saw was the ballustrade and a bit of the brick flooring. Also, we saw more of the narrator than we did of the rooms and artifacts she to which she was treating us. Not a helpful video. I've never given a 'thumbs down' to a KZbin video, until now.

@@Romewise As a professional movie/film maker, I suggest you do the "sandwich" thing with your videos. Three moments when you show your face. 1. Do the opening "standup" or "establishment" shot by showing your face and explaining what you are about to do. Then, only video items as you tour, and not showing your face if you can help it. 2. Somewhere in the video, find a spot suitable for you to show your face again and re-establish what you are doing. Some nice background would be good. Then, continue filming until the end and 3, do your "wrap up" by showing your face again. You can still narrate live without moving the camera around to your face so frequently. Nothing against your face, but the ratio of what we were to see on the tour and your face got a bit tight. Almost 50-50. Thanks for your hard work. I saw all those things in 1969 without any special tour. But . . . the world's population was lower then too! Ha.

To me it's breaks my heart to think about how , why, and what that church is built on. Think opposite to Jesus's true church.

Hello T, and thanks for watching my video. I'm not sure what you mean about the church...do you refer to Saint Peter's Basilica being built of the tomb of Saint Peter?

@@Romewise is it not the same site where before the vatican was built is where Nero and the one's before him had there 'circus' to murder the early minister's of Jesus teachings like Peter did. Is it not built on the place called the 7 hills.? Has any man have authority to change or add or remove any of God's word? Read Peter 1 and 2 and at least revelation 12 to 15 if it's even in your copy of the holy scriptures. I pray the peace and strength are yours from our brother and lord Jesus Christ amen.

Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers. Yes, Saint Peter's Basilica was built where it is precisely to honor the place where Saint Peter was martyred under orders of the Emperor Nero.

@@tpiz2448 Yeah, it's built on Nero's circus. Yes, it's built where Saint Peter died. The Catholic Church believes in making evil places good, that the power of God overcomes them. Think of Blacks in America claiming the N word for themselves. Same principal. No, it's not built on 7 hills, it's across the tiber from the 7 hills of Rome. The beast btw either refers to pagan Rome or to heretical Jerusalem. No, no man has authority to change, add, or remove God's word. The church doesn't and never has done this. We believe that the church teaches the correct way to interpret scripture so that we don't split into a million churches believing different things like the Protestant ones did. Speaking of changing the bible, martin luther removed 7 books (the Deuterocanonical books) from the bible even though they were in the bible jesus and the early church would have used (the Septuagint). Of course Peter and Revelation is in the Bible, the Catholic Church chose what is considered inspired scripture. And none of Peter or Revelation goes against the church's teachings, quite the opposite, in fact. I encourage you to read your bible, research church History, and have an open mind so that the Holy Spirit may guide you back to the universal church.

@@tpiz2448 Only part of the Vatican is built on the "circus" area. If you look straight at St. Peter's from the front, the "circus" area is to the total left of the building, most of it outside the walls of the Vatican. St. Peter's was built mostly over an ancient necropolis (grave yard).

Only slight glimpses of the magnificent art and a lot of of blather. Rather poorly conceived,
