Great video and you make a great point. I started experimenting making stains with diluted acrylic paint because I feel like most water based stains are overpriced paint’s anyway. I know some installers that do layers and layers on acrylic but I agree I don’t like the idea of essentially sealing your acrylic paint.

Almost 20k lets go. I do think I could use these w my form liners tbh I usually just use permatiqe and just use the thicker stuff at the bottom of the bucket

Heck yeah brother, we're almost there!!! Yes, you could definitely use that stain on your borders and rock faces. That was part of why we designed them this way. Let me know what colors you like using, we'll get a few sample to you 👊

Do you have a video where you carved this job? Is it freestyle or did you start with a vertical stamp?
@DecoCreteTV Жыл бұрын
This was all hand carved without any stamps. We don't have a video on this exact wall, but we do have a few other videos on vertical concrete on our channel, and plan making a hand carved video in the future. Thanks for watching!!!

Does this work on cement blocks?
@DecoCreteTV4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! Yes, this will work on concrete blocks as long as there is no paint or sealer already on the surface. Thanks for watching!!

So u just use sealer over it at the end
@DecoCreteTV Жыл бұрын
Yes, all you need to do is seal it. No cleanup required, just give it a day to dry and seal it. Thanks for all the support you show to our channel, always love hearing from you brother👊

So for an outdoor fireplace. How will this color hold up? Heat/weather wear.
@DecoCreteTV4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! Is the fireplace made out of concrete, and has it ever been sealed? Both of these things could make a difference. This stain is formulated for unsealed concrete or porous masonry block. If the fireplace is natural stone or something else, you would need to do a small test spot to see how well it'll soak in and bond. If the surface has been sealed it'll have a hard time soaking in, and probably won't last too long. If it is unsealed concrete or masonry block, we would recommend sealing it after the staining is all done. I'll leave a link to the sealer below. It's hard to give exact number years that it'll last, but in most cases, you could expect at least 5 years. If it ever fades, you could re-apply it as needed. @@DecoCreteTV the veneer that will be stained will be concrete and not sealed.

Not sealed, before staining*
@DecoCreteTV4 ай бұрын
@@kylemoore907 In that case, the water-based stains would be the easiest to use and will probably look the best. Sealing it after the stain will help keep it in place. If it fades over time, you can apply more stain.

Can you tell me the color stains you are using so I will know what to purchase thanks!
@DecoCreteTV7 ай бұрын
We were using Graham Cracker, Havana Tan, Whiskey Barrel, Marble Canyon, and Sandel Wood. We also used Allegheny Flint diluted 1:8 for the antiquing. I'll leave a link to the antiquing video and the color chart on our website.
