In this tutorial, we'll be using some amazing plugins to create a beautiful panelized tensile structure inspired by the Pleated Inflation designed by MARC FORNES / THEVERYMANY. First, we'll use the Voronoi algorithm to generate our curves and give our structure a unique shape. Then, we'll let Kangaroo take over and expand the mesh to add more complexity and detail. After that, we'll use the Stripper plugin to create mesh strips along defined directions, giving our structure even more depth and interest. Finally, we'll lift the internal points and add some color with the gradient component, bringing the whole thing to life.
Are you ready to take your project to the next level and prepare it for digital fabrication? In the extended version of this tutorial, we'll show you how it's done. We'll start by using the OpenNest plugin to organize and nest all of the individual pieces, making sure everything fits together perfectly. Next, we'll create a numbering sequence so we know exactly which part goes where, and we'll show you how to create flaps for the pieces so they can be attached to one another easily and securely. Thanks for the great tutorial! Nice structure & learned som new concepts on the way. I found it challenging to find a voronoi configuration - offset distance combination without sharp inner edges,. Otherwise lofting will not work, because one of the tree parallel lines is missing.. This limits the maximum ofsett and thus the 'tent width' somewhat. Did not find a solution for this yet..

Kangaroo has "remove duplicate lines" which will simplify that process.

Rhino 8 is stil "Work in progress" project. That's why it doesn't work. Once Rhino 8 gets official release it will be possible. You can install it regularly on Rhino 7
