Her hair is straight, her roots are clearly needed retouch. As a license Cosmetologist my self. I would have done retouch first, because she don't need that much time on previous relax hair. Just my professional opinion 🤷🏾

Much Respect from one professional to another! Thank you for your comment, it allows me to add more clarity. Her ends were more Texturized than Relaxed & I mentioned to my client when she got the Virgin Relaxer that if she felt her ends were a little too puffy for her liking to let me know. She decided that she wanted her ends straighter, it’s just harder to see the puffiness due to the fact that she had been using a flat iron when styling, but when her hair is shampooed, the puffiness is present. I started with the ends first instead of the roots because the scalp will start to burn quickly before getting the ends straight. Thanks again for your feedback, it’s appreciated. Many blessings to you & your business. 🤎

Very thick relaxed hair

Yes, it is. 💯

Her hair does not appear to need a relaxer. If it does, only retouch the new growth with a mild relaxer and not the hair that has already been relaxed. A 'comb through' may end up over processing her hair over time.

Thank you for your comment but her hair looks straight because she straightened it out with a flat iron. It wasn’t straight at all on the ends, it was texturized on the ends which is why she asked me to do a comb thru (old school term). Thank you again for your feedback. 🤎

As a relaxed hair girl myself I enjoyed the video. In the last year I've changed the frequency in which I get my touchups and feel like it's definitely helped my hair tremendously. As a professional for many years would you say that what hair stylist were taught about how often relaxers should be done (6-8wks) has changed? What do you recommend to your clients?
@SugarSalonTV10 ай бұрын
Thank you for your inquiry; please join the family & subscribe. 🤎 I just retired recently so I’m no longer serving clients but I just believe in healthy hair, so if someone doesn’t have new growth in 8 weeks, then I was not giving them a Relaxer Retouch. People’s hair grows at different paces & if the Retouch wasn’t needed, I wasn’t gonna do it just for the revenue. When operating in integrity, God will meet your needs & giving someone a Relaxer Retouch when they didn’t have enough new growth, the hair will become over processed & break off. If you yourself see that you don’t have enough new growth at the roots, don’t book a Relaxer Retouch. Protect your own hair & play a part in the health of your own hair by not allowing what you know isn’t needed. Trust me, in doing so, it will help you to maintain a “healthy head of hair!”. 💯

Going from a curly perm TO a relaxer. Which relaxer do you recommend? Any tips.

Good Evening! Unfortunately, I actually do not give chemical advice for non-clients due to the liabilities but what I would recommend is that you schedule a face to face Consultation with a Licensed Hair Stylist so that he or she can advise you and make suggestions for you. Thank you for your question. 😃

Great video. What's the name of the shine mist you are using?
@SugarSalonTV10 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question & comment! It’s called, Oil Free Shine & you can get it at your local beauty supply store, they have a variety of brands. It makes your hair shine without the oily buildup nor weighed down hair that most oils produce. 😃

Thank you for your question! There are several different brands, if you Google “oil free shine” & you will find them. But one brand that used was Oil Free Mega Shine by Bonfi Natural, which can also be found on Amazon. 😃
