I have a question. Are the GMRS version, and the Ham version the same radio? Seems they can both be unlocked to do the same thing. Thanks in advance.

Excellent explanation, thank you. My TD H3 is their GMRS version, which can be booted to HAM mode as well. Comparing my manual to their online HAM manual I do not see any differences. Thus, my question, is there any advantage having the TD H3 HAM version over my present GMRS? To my untrained eye their features, frequencies, channels, and the like, appear same-same. Thank you.

Hopefully they'll fix the mic gain control in a future version. The change made in the menu has no affect on the actual mic gain when tested. Also I'd like to see an affective squelch tail eliminator for when using repeaters, as this gives a very loud hash noise as the repeater releases. The H8 has no such issues. But I do like the fact that holding #3 down starts the scan mode without needing to release this button, as is required with the H8.

I wish they work harder on their QC I have 2 TD-H3's One is Clean the other has a few higher then acceptable on high end of 2 meter and 70 cm Other then this.... They seem to be great little radios for the $ Thank You for your report and Feedback to TidRadio... I did sent them an email about my radio but have not gotten a reply...
