@Boss Coach Marv is partially right. They do need to have a level of toughness. But that goes back to the team identity. You used the perfect word...... Alignment. The disruption of Jerry at the top is the problem. Jerry allows players to end around the coach for special favors. (Zeke!!!!) McCarthy not having control of his staff. You can't undermine the coach's influence and expect to have complete success. The next part is that the building of the team. The front office makes decisions on players outside of the coach.( Trey Lance, Zeke) The front office holds on to players for too long. ( Tyron Smith, Zack Martin, D Law) These old players are a remnant of the Jason Garrett culture. ALL of that needs to go out of the building. Good to great players that played in a mediocre culture. They have expectations and they are bringing them forward to another coach and a new set of players. They are the OGs and team leaders. But D Law has always been undisciplined. Zack Martin WAS Kraytos....... But now he's hurt Zack. It's time..... Just like it was with Tyron. Be in alignment with the coach on who you are letting go and don't undermine the coach by leaving people in the locker room with privilege. Last thing is scheme. The scheme must be aligned with the identity. Andy Reid has an offense that is able to adapt to the situations that the defense presents. Kellen Moore has an offense that confuses young receivers, doesn't focus on top talent and can be manipulated by smart defensive coordinators. The identity is no identity. Mike McCarthy is an easy going coach who likes experienced vets because they don't take as much work to get ready. His offense is from 20 years ago and seems to be missing ways to adapt to what modern defenses are doing. Dan Quinn has an identity. He plays Cover 1/Cover 3 and his DBs gamble for picks. You also see that stopping the run is not really a priority. The scheme needs to reflect the identity. Andy Reid established an identity on offense and defense. The leadership is aligned in their decisions. The KC offense and defense has answers to what the other team is doing. They are aligned.

I’m 100% with this Boss. However, Cowboys Nation needs to remember this in August if our 1st round pick goes on IR or whatever DT we bring in get a 6 week high ankle sprain in practice. Don’t blame the damn coach, these guys need to form calluses in Training Camp. The coaches need to set the tone at camp, HITTING, tackle to the ground in goal line period, etc. So don’t yell at the coach and call him stupid like ya’ll did when Trevon got hurt doing one on one’s. That’s just life.

@@cowboys5 TE that is all world and they have running game and atop defense! I old enough to remember Chris Jones making the game saving defensive play. Mahomes a force multiplier not sure what that is, but one thing I am sure without Chandler jones defensive paly in that SB the force multiplier loses that game. The force came out threw an INT in the 3rd, but defense said we got a job to do, because you know we just cannot depend on the force multiplier, because its a team game.
