Hey Guys and Girls 👋🏻 Great to be back! What did you think of the video? Did you know this already? Short and sweet and simple hopefully but useful if you didn’t know how to do this already! See you in the next one! Comment below if you have any other Resolve questions.

This is really fantastic to know. Currently still using my MacBook Air M1 and working on 4k is always a challenge. I also like your speed editor videos. IMHO, most people underestimate what a fantastic device the jog wheel is, using it all the time. And, as you also stated, you're getting a DaVinci Resolve Studio license with the speed editor which is really a no-brainer. Last but not least: GIVEAWAY! 😉

Hi, great video, two questions, the "monitor" settings, only affect the second display and not the main one? and does it affect a random pc monitor or it has to be a special monitor dedicated to pro video and connect it a certain way other than hdmi or displayport?

Great video. Can I just take footage from the 4k timeline and place it to the 1080 timeline? Regards
@AlexCameron-Depiqd9 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for watching and also commenting. Yes, absolutely you can. You can simply copy and paste or you can open up stacked timelines and drag and drop between them.

Hope for help from PRO. Is that possible during editing in DaVinci Resolve studio 18.6.6, to choose some frame from timeline or original video file to use it like a preview icon (for KZbin, Facebook, IG and etc.) before exporting video? So that after exporting I would see my selected frame in QuickTime Player preview? It is about Vertical project for shorts.

previously you showed the same thing but u used output instead of format...my question is my master resolution is 1920x1080 but now i want 2 separate viewing mode 1 is hd 2.39 and 2nd DCI 2.39 2k aspect ratio in a same timeline, I want to switch between 2 can i do that? Output Rasolution changing the view aspect ratio , if i change the format it will not affect the viewing aspect ratio.My qustion is what is the roll of Format apart from FPS

should timeline correspond exactly to the video clip? Like 4K 60 fps and not 30 or 25 fps?

Hi Alex, thanks for this quick tutorial! Is there a specific reason, you started with a 1080p timeline? And BTW: GIVEAWAY 🙂
@AlexCameron-Depiqd9 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching, Arnd! Hugely appreciate you taking the time to watch and then ask a question. So yes, even though I tend to film in 6K raw and 4k. I tend to initially edit in 1080p as it’s faster and less computer intensive. As Resolve is Resolution Independent, I can then easily do what I did in the tutorial and simply switch up to a higher resolution timeline for a 4k delivery. This means I’m rarely needing to create proxies and speed things up a bit. Does that help?

Does starting in HD timeline make the editing faster? Is this a common workflow? I create my projects as UHD from the start, but I do get some hang ups from time to time (when adding effects, etc) Should I be doing baseline edits in 1920x1080 and then change to 4K before delivering?
@AlexCameron-Depiqd3 ай бұрын
Great question! I do it as it does give better performance for certain parts of the edit but because Resolve is resolution independent you can switch back and forth at any time. Some people would prefer to finish in UHD resolution which makes sense but when editing often speed over resolution is more important. When it comes to delivery you can then deliver in source resolution or just flick over to UHD and deliver that way.
