I know right ! It’s one thing the European cars have got right

The extension for the sump plug was why it was over torqued. The torque adapter needs to be after the extension closest to the bolt👍

Legend thanks heaps for that I’ll try that next time.

@@NatesToolbox, 30Nm is not much for a sump drain plug. Depending on its size and its seal, 25-30 Nm is accurate. Usually, in Europe, I had plugs with copper seals which neded 30 Nm and plugs with rubber seals which needed 25Nm.

@@NatesToolbox The adapter is calibrated for 40-200nm, meaning it will be very inaccurate below or above that range too.

Good video. Thanks mate. 👍

I thought you would have torqued it up with the mechanical wrench and then tested it with the electronic one. As it stands you have no idea how accurate it is.

These things are rubbish mate. If you accidentally press the power button & the memory button at the same time which is so easy to do because the buttons are so small and so close together it puts it into calibration mode which then totally throws it out of specification. You would think that it would have a hold time so if/when this happens you would have breathing space to get out of the calibration mode, but no, it changes into calibration mode instantly & then it is totally useless from that point until you get it re-calibrated. And even if this does not happen to you it's still a total waste of money because of the way it registers and warns you of the applied torque. Just having a light & a buzzer you cannot get an accurate torque reading anyway.
