Love this technique! Absolutely gorgeous effect. I did mine a little differently - I added the metal leaf sheets to the empty plate, then flexed the plate to get cracks, then put alcohol ink over the gilding on the plate to get a bit of colour in the cracks. Used my brayer which did shift a bit of the gilding but that was cool. Then after it dried (only takes a few minutes), I added a paint background to pull it. Loved the effect!!!

I’ve seen scrapbook paper as a way of transferring texture. Pull with a single color to see if it works for you.
