Unlocking The Culinary Triumph: Chef Sujira 'Aom' Pongmorn's MICHELIN Success Story

Thailand’s very first MICHELIN Guide Young Chef Award Presented by Blancpain went to the rising star Chef Sujira “Aom” Pongmorn back in 2021. She achieved this recognition at the age of just 34 while working for the then one MICHELIN Star Saawaan. The award is given to a young chef of a MICHELIN Starred restaurant with exceptional talent and great potential. This young chef also shares the love for cooking, bringing something new to the food scene.
Now spearheading the 2023 Bib Gourmand awarded Southern Thai eatery Yoong Khao Hom, Chef Pongmorn opens up about the turning point that has led her to take better care of herself, especially her mental health, as well as the inspiration for her cooking that begins with things and people close to her heart. She also explains why physical and mental well-being are crucial in order to pursue this culinary career.
