i had a similar issue so much so that i got excited whenever i made it to floor two haha, but idk if this will help you i switched to controller and made it to floor 4 the first time after that and forge the second time with controller so try switching over if you havnt already see if it helps

I don't understand the people that straight up Spoil everything to everyone, Hutts doesn't seem to mind much but the "hey, the gunslinger has all gun synergies" literally minutes away from the moment Hutts would have realized or the "Uh, his past is two Liches lol" in the same run everyone would have seen exactly *that* even without you spoiling it because we all are fortunately blessed with the miracle of eyesight (I'm really sorry if that's not true for you or someone you know, I don't mean to hurt or offend anyone, I'm just trying to prove a point). aw man, i tried to unlock the gunslinger a while ago. i was doing a rainbow run and i got godlike drops as the paradox, including the clone so i got 2 runs worth of items, all of lich's phases went down in seconds and i only took about 2 - 3 hits the entire fight. but when the gunslinger came around it was the complete opposite, trash drops everywhere, synergies didnt help. the enemies kept breaking the water barrels to put out the fireplace so i couldnt get to the oubilette or the abbey. i couldnt afford the GK because i kept having to stack up on health and ammo. dragun got me down to one heart since i only had about 3 by the time i got to him. i didnt even get to fight the two liches and died in bullet hell after the first 2 rooms. as the floors went on i just slowly realised i wasnt going to make it due to the rng of the run, it was so disappointing, two hours down the drain.

I assure you: you'll be a NINJA!!! (12 cylinder, doublesided bullets or what it's called... the bullet that reloads one bullet by rolling... and smt for dodgeroll speed.) if you want to do more, throw metronome into this.

another good challenge: metronome, casey, orbital bullets, (that weird... pink-purple-blue-red eyeball item. rebound shots), and last two or three ... but not least: Scattershot, Flak bullets, snowball bullets, fat bullets, anything that makes your bullets bigger!

Big question In order to get the gunslinger...is it required to kill the Lich with the Paradox? It’s not clear with many sources that I find, and those that are are hard to read or are inaccurate in other areas.

Yes, after beating the Lich with Paradox, you will insta respawn as the Gunslinger but you will not have unlocked it yet. To unlock, you need to beat the Lich in this only run with the Gunslinger to pema unlock hin

Made' a challenge called "sharp personal space" here's what you need: ghost bullets orbital bullets angry bullets hungry bullets katana bullets homing bullets and bouncy bullets with these you get blasphemy you CAN take bullet for the live ammo cape

My tip to anyone trying to unlock gunslinger, and it only works if you havent unlocked clone yet. When you unlock an item, it has a higher chance of appearing in game. So right after unlocking clone, start a rainbow run with paradox and go through the whole gungeon without picking up clone. You will be tempted because it will show up frequently in the rainbow chests. Once you restart as gunslinger, now your run will have a much higher probablity of seeing clone, which is basically a 100% win item. F

It took me 4 days in total to unlock both new characters from 0. paradox 2 and gunslinger 2. I would often just die cuz im bad or as once, i saved the run and so the paradox puddle thing didnt save on me so i had to redo the run and die again couple of times. Im also that bad that i had to have 2-3 clones per run in order to win when using the paradox. At least as the gunslinger it wasnt so bad. Got the mourning star with quad ammo item and i basically used it the entire run.
