Thank you very much for explaining and demonstrating this so well. I actually needed a thin water bottle cover for our food truck, just like the cylinder you made in your example. So I made the same one in Fusion 360 to my dimensions (58mm x 63.5mm), exported it and printed it exactly to your directions! It worked, but your first example of spiralize took you 1 hour and 7 minutes, and it took me only 15 minutes on my FLSUN V400. (smile!) LOVE IT! Thanks again.

Ahh, the food truck life! I lived that life myself!! After getting into 3D printing I had so many ideas for design to help in the food truck (Trailer for me)! I'm glad the print worked out! What kind of food are you serving? I was Southern Style BBQ. Thanks for watching!

Hey Bill, I have heard a few people refer to that symbol as a "HAMBURGER". It seems rather apt to me.
@pushingplastic7445

I've heard that one as well, in fact I think I might've referred to it as Hamburger in a few of my previous videos. But To the right of the search bar, there is the symbol with the 3 horizontal lines. I think that might be the Hamburger symbol. The one to open the settings visibility window looks like 3 sliders. Maybe it's Hamburger as well?

I've always known that symbol as "settings slider". I used to use a video recoding software MANY years ago (cannot recall the name) and that was the settings icon it used and since all of the settings were adjusted with sliders that's what they called it. Personally it has always reminded me of the equalizers on old-school stereo systems. You remember the ones that had actual buttons and knobs on them where you purposely AVOIDED touching the screens? lol

@@pushingplastic7445 I've been playing around with vase mode since upgrading to 5.3.1 and it's been acting "weird". Some models it doesn't seem to have the same effect with a definite seam line on one side. Exact same settings with a different STL and no line. One thing I've been trying to figure out and I'm not sure if it can be done or how to do it is to combine regular printing with vase mode. Basically I have one STL I want to print the first 10mm normally and then switch the vase mode for the rest. This is a small lamp shade and I want the supports and open top but vase mode won't allow it. Once the top of the shade prints with the support I'd like it to do the rest in vase mode so there is zero seam. Even if the seam is on the inside it will show up when the lamp is turned on. This is with a 1mm nozzle and 0.175mm layer height. Thoughts?

@@Enjoymentboy I played around with this tonight and came up empty. I thought I might be able to use Cura's Per Model Settings to do this, but once you check the box to turn on vase mode you lose the ability to do anything but vase mode. Also, vase mode won't allow for more than one model on the print bed. If anybody else has an idea I'm all ears on this one! Sorry.

Ive yet to print a vase that actually holds water ever when adding like 14 bottom layers. How do I fix this

Before I begin, I can say that I haven't tried any of these methods! But I've read that increasing the flow rate will help. The extra filament will fill gaps, but can make for a bad looking print. I've also read that increasing the heat will help. More heat will melt more filament and make a tighter bond. The final one seems to be the best idea, spray the model with clear acrylic. Again, I haven't tried any of those methods, so if you try them, let us know how well they work. Thanks for watching and good luck!

a bit misleading at the end, to get a thicker wall you will need to turn off the spiral mode, and end up with that line. with spiral mode you cant change thickness for some reason
@pushingplastic7445
@pushingplastic7445 11 ай бұрын
Not misleading at all. It was an alternative to vase mode using nothing but multiple walls. Turning off base mode was obvious as was the seam.
