imagine we wouldn't have 99% of the 3d printing community only printing fidget toys, I am convinced we would have a slicer capable of printing very little individual perimeters but instead we have gcode where 9/10 lines in the file is a travel move.

Best reason is it is smoother.

You are the vase mode god! I gladly obey! I really like vase mode too and not even my wife shares this passion... First I thought that something is wrong with me... Oo But man you went deep down the rabbit hole! Very inspiring - thank you! If I find your e-mail I send you a really useful model.

So my question is what if your model doesn't meet the requirements for vase mode printing and you still ask the slicer to slice it in vase mode? Does it refuse to do it? Does it slice the model somehow but then if you try to actually print the model, it'll fail? Something else maybe? I'm really curious.
@Clockspring3D3 жыл бұрын
It depends on the slicer, but usually it will at least try! Whether the results will print successfully is another matter, though! The results tend to be a bit unpredictable :)

Great video man! why you stopped making 3d print videos and tutorial??? please, restart NOW! ;)
@Clockspring3D4 жыл бұрын
Haha, thank you! I'm gonna claim I haven't stopped, I'm just being very inefficient in producing video content 🤣. I'll get another one up soon, I promise! 😁❤️

@@Clockspring3D nice! Thanks for the good news! 😄 For sure I'll buy the spiral box model, so satisfying! Is OK for you if I'll show your model in one of my next videos?

Can't you just increase wall line count to make it more rigid and as a side effect control inner geometry?
@umutkaradag23404 жыл бұрын
if you increase the wall count, its no more vase mode

what is the best kindof filament to use in vase mode for durability?
@3dPrintingMillennial4 жыл бұрын
TPU.... If you don't mind it being squishy when you press it. It's damn near indestructible unless you cut it.
@ed10114 жыл бұрын
can you do part vas mode, part regular mode? for example, to print a tube, i want top and bottom to be in regular mode and middle part in vas mode so it is faster and cheaper to make? in Cura, per model setting, spiral setting is not one of the settings I can change. what is your thought?
@Clockspring3D4 жыл бұрын
You might be able to do it in Simplify 3D using multiple processes, but probably not in Cura. You could of course add extra bottom layers, but those would be solid, and there wouldn't be a way to add infill.
