I've been drawing all my life and have had the privilege of working both for AAA game studios and also movies. I have taught foundation drawing at the University of Cincinnati and it's time now to give back. I understand the frustrations of learning art in general but specifically, drawing. My channel is dedicated in helping absolute beginners, intermediate artists, and industry veterans - all wanting to improve their drawing skills. I haven't drawn in ten years, followed along with this video and surprised myself. It came out so good, which is refreshing because I originally gave up drawing since I was a perfectionist. I was not expecting anything this time, and therefore I was not disappointed. Thank you for the video, you are a great artist and teacher

_"Use your eraser. There is no shame in it."_ This has always been a big psychological hurdle for me. Maybe its watching so many tutorials by great artists who can lay down perfect lines/shades first time that I've falsely believed its cheating or amateurish to use the eraser to make changes on my own work. I have to constantly tell myself those first lines are never perfect and thats ok, you are allowed to correct it, YES start again if you have to.

Robins and a few other birds do actually have fleshy folds around the ends of the beaks, lips in a way. I've raised many a robin and mourning dove. I did enjoy this video.

I do remember Contra and the spread gun. Many hours of my life as a kid, and the subsequent Nintendo thumb. This is a great video. Not many people go into advanced techniques or even define what they are. That gorgeous Fibonacci sequence of feathers on the head of the big bird! I really like how you transitioned the fur and feathers of the smaller bird as well. I also like how you added more surface detail to the midtones of the beak. I've seen Craig Mullins do that.

If it’s a bird, it needs a cere. And the nostril is in the cere. The lips, at the back of the mouth is the gape and it protrudes slightly. (Former falconer)

Here’s a question, when laying down your layers and you do 7 or more, is it bad after let’s say the 4th-5th pass to go and have another layer be in the same direction you’ve already done? Example vertical or horizontal? Does that make sense? Love this tutorial! You rock Bobby 🦶

Had to come onto the computer to give a comment. Practice practice practice. Even doodles once a day. Put something down. All that time accumulates. I had to come up here to say, those of you who think you're the absolute worst. I was at that point. Before I got into adulthood, I had trained my hand how to draw by tracing. Now into adulthood, I don't trace but that muscle memory helped a lot now that I have very bad rheumatism in my joints...really bad in my hands. I don't knock at ANYONE who would think their work is less than. Practice. Force yourself to sit down and do something. If I can do it, with deformed fingers that can't even snap my fingers because of the rheumatism eating out the cushion in the joints that would take someone with normal hands a quarter the time to draw it...others can at least try
