I bought an original Klon in either 1994 or 1995. Still have it. I’ve bought other versions over the years (Wampler tumnus and archer as well)…and I bought this Halcyon Gold a few weeks ago. This Halcyon Gold is the best Klon pedal I’ve ever played…hands down the best.

Thank you! Yes with the dry knob I have it at zero if I am going into a clean amp, but I adjust it higher when going into a dirty amp to preserve some of the clean signal to maintain clarity.

Yup another hit I reckon. Origins adaptive circuit design is probably the best thing to happen to old fashioned pedals in years. They've had a grand off me this year already looks like they're getting more lol!

I’m digging this video. I’m not really a Klon guy. I appreciate that so many people want that sound. I’d use it to capture the tones as needed for other songs. This is something that I think that I would actually use. *EDIT* Your video is excellent with an awesome breakdown on tones! That rollback feature is a big reason why I didn’t like the Klon. It just didn’t have it. I like my cleans to be rolled back more than just a specific separate channel. I’m definitely subscribing!

Great tones! Sorry for the newbie question, but what do you mean when you say you have a York IR loaded in the DAW? I have York IRs in my Iridium, but never heard of adding them in the daw after the iridium. What is this sorcery?

Not a newbie question at all. I actually did a video on it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rp2uZYujgsqdi6c. I load the IR using Positive Grid's Bias FX 2. Then change in Logic depending on the mood. Makes it easier to audition sounds and have the IR eq curve affect the time based effects as well.

Hey Alex. Thanks for posting another great demo. Fantastic to see your subs growing and growing here. Until I saw your video, I didn't even know this one was in the works at Origin Effects. One of my favorite pedals is another take on the Klon, the Wampler Tumnus mini. The Klon-type pedals push a NMV amp in a perfect way to my ear. Until hearing this, I thought nothing would knock the Tumnus off my pedalboard. Thanks to your video, I now have to get my hands on a Halcyon Gold to give it a spin. I am really impressed with all of Origin's stuff, so I suspect this may be a winner.

I've been asking for a Klone type pedal with a mid frequency sweep to set your mids exactly where you want them. I guess this is the closest thing.

Depends on how I am using the RD. If the RD is my actual amp simulation then yes for sure. If I am using the Halcyon as a boost into the RD into a real amp, then maybe. Probably wouldnt use both as drives though but then again, I haven't tested that.
