Origin FX are simply top tier FX pedals from the build to how they sound...fantastic...This demo of all three pedals was again fantastic; I knew they were versatile but how versatile is something I just found out...I have all three pedals, gold Klon Num 1 blue Bluesbreaker Num 2 and then the tube screamer...Jay you put so much into perspective for me as regards these pedals...

Which pedal through a tube amp on clean has the best characteristics for something like Allman Bros, or Voodo Chile types of tones. Match each of your pedals to the genres or artist tones that you'd say they best compliment?

Great rundown of the sounds and features, Jay! Killer playing as always. I’m a big fan of all the origin stuff I’ve ever tried.

I always love your playing J. It's what brings me here. I think you can play any guitar, through any amp and make it sound professional. That is what it's about to me. The sound a player can extract from whatever they have- and to be able to get lost in it.

I can't tell the difference between the gold and blue since the riffs were not the same, they both sounded good, but I was not able to here 'why' if that makes any sense. 😄 The Green sounded so different, more frizzy gain (not that I don't love good gain/distortion) but yeah a bit brittly' / fizzy not very good, but might be perfect for AC DC or even ZZ Top and other artist's rhythm sounds, in fact it might be much better than the other two for some of those rhythms. I guess we should have all three. 😄

It would be nice if you played the same thing through each pedal. In any case, this is a great review. Good job and thanks!

2:18 I like how you set this up one right after the other, but would be better to just play half of that SRV intro, doesn't need to be all the way through for us to get the idea, then play the same riff for each pedal instead of something completely different.

What genres, and or artists would you say the Gold best fits?

Classic rock, southern Rock

@@cliffdykes1171 Southern Rock leaning toward excellent Skynyrd, or passable Allman bros,? Classic rock and bands like Skynyrd have a huge valley between, would you say it actually is that dynamic that it could reasonably resemble a Skynyrd rhythm and lead, as well as maybe a Scorpions or even Priest?

@@cliffdykes1171 Thanks, and cool. From the clip here, I thought the Green was to brittle with it's gain setting and the Blue seemed best but he wasn't playing the same riffs between pedals, so no way get an apples/apples; Gold vs Blue, comparison. And then though, some of the time the Orange one sounded best,,,,, .......😄 Yeah, thanks, I probably need the Gold and the Blue.

All three of these could find a home on my board, I hear applications for how I play and how they'd all fit with my playing. Side note: that Nashville thinline has some serious mojo!

@@JayLeonardJ Thanks, great sounding, and thanks for mic'ing, imv, that is the best representation that we can get , or as close as we're going to get to what these pedals sound like in the real world. I may have already asked, but here goes anyway; I'm looking for a good Hendrix(voodoo chile) SRV Allman Bros etc core sound., that clear, chimy, tube sag sound that they got, typically with strats on the neck pups, a hard hit on the low , open E string is the best way to determine if that sound is there, it's not a distortion sound really, its an overdriven sound with clarity but very 'thick' something a tube screamer or the like, does not have. Which of these three pedals do you feel would be closest to what I'm looking for, coupled with my tube amp, and strats. I realize Dickey Betts and Duane Allman used les pauls for the most part but they still were getting that Fender Twin dimmed' sound.

Wait… if these are just a tube screamer, blues driver, and probably a Klon, why not just get the original pedals… or in the case of the Klon, any other Klon derivative (unless these are somehow better)? Note: I wrote this as Jay said “the Green one is the Tube Screamer” or something to that effect).
@rosewood_ca4 ай бұрын
Although they derived from the pedals you just named; they are meant to be more versatile with the adaptive switch (more beneficial for dynamic playing with volume knob being dropped in volume without sacrificing the tone of the circuit) and the mod switch which pro sesh engineers recommend from the original circuit to a cleaner version of it. The original pedals are more straight foward and to the point and have some limitations that some people may find tedious. Especially for the price that they are being sold. Hope this helps..
