"Just finished today's lesson and I want to share a little vocal exercise with you all that will help you release the high notes effortlessly. It's not about putting a lot of energy into it; it's about letting go, as I mentioned earlier. Nicola Martinucci showed me this exercise many years ago, and he told me it was Enrico Caruso's exercise. Now, I'll give you my version, which is a bit longer because I've doubled it. It's all about endurance and breath control. So, remember, as I always say, the attack is crucial, as Luciano Pavarotti also emphasized. Keep it simple and relaxed. You have to release those high notes.
Because this exercise requires such a long breath, you don't have to think about adding extra force to the high notes, actually it is impossible to push it. Just keep going. That's the idea.
Giancarlo Monsalve
Probably bring him back the old school of singing step-by-step, voice by voice, lesson by lesson.

I’m 30 y.o in 2 weeks .. I’m a dramatic tenor and I still struggle with my high range. I would gladly leave everything behind to study and build my voice with you for the next 3 years 🙏

Your videos have really helped me. Unfortunately, I’m feeling the sting of vocal fatigue (it comes on every year) so I’m going to wait until October to start practicing again. Maybe one day you could make masterclass videos and sell them on your website.

Hi there! I'm glad to hear that my videos have been helpful to you. Vocal fatigue can be challenging, but taking a break and waiting until October sounds like a wise decision. I'll definitely consider the idea of creating masterclass videos in the future. Thanks for the suggestion, and I hope your vocal health improves soon!

Thank you for your videos, Maestro Giancarlo! Can you please share any tips on getting rid of unnecessary body tension in singing - I tend to flex my back and legs too much... Hot to sing with the body relaxed?

Yes! Please! I have an aggravating habit of turning my whole body to the right when I have to sing a high note and sometimes even a trembling hand. What do you do to overcome this?
@joannecuomo1312

Yes even a trembling hand! I discovered this was from pinching a nerve in the back of my neck by squeezing down (rather than opening up) as I constricted my cervical spine!

what exactly do you do to have such a long breath? Do you open your ribs a lot ,or do you breathe low?

There's a lot of great advice here on the high end, but for me the problem area is the lows currently. They're workable, but really leave something to be desired imo. Any advice there?
@giancarlomonsalve
@giancarlomonsalve 9 ай бұрын
I appreciate your feedback! Working on the low end can indeed be challenging. To improve your lower vocal range, I recommend focusing on exercises that strengthen and control your diaphragm and breath support. Also, practice scales and exercises specifically targeting the lower range. Consistency is key, and it may take some time to see improvements, but with dedication, you can enhance your low-end vocals. Keep practicing, and you'll see progress!
