But in order to do that we need 50 pineapples. And we only got 5 pineapple seeds from our warehouse run. So it's time to do some farming. But farming these high value crops has some unexpected consequences!

Hey Scrapman, since the raid happens at midnight and its is too dark that the enemies blends in to the surroundings. Why dont you build lamposts around the places near you farm plot, then it is easier to see the the enemies and get rid of them before they get near and also to kill the tape bot that are hanging in the back.

Hey scrapman. So I played survival myself and encountered a boss. Well seems like if you shoot at the head it only takes 45 shots (i think) to kill the boss. And squiddy was taking less damage by the tape bots because he had better clothes. The dresses act like armour. The greater tier of the clothes the less damage you take. (sorry for bad English)

I took a look around the code for what was going on with the broccoli the other day. Turns out that the code on line 404 of the file hvs_plantables.json has the broccoli harvest able dropping a tomato and then broccoli seeds as normal. From what I can tell "b5cdd503-fe1c-482b-86ab-6a5d2cc4fc8f" is the right id for the harvest, not "6d92d8e7-25e9-4698-b83d-a64dc97978c8" which is tomatoes and the mature harvest able right above it, so probably just a little copy and paste mistake.

@@Turtley72 Basically, the vegetables and seeds have different ID numbers. The harvest code for broccoli is supposed to give you Broccoli and Broccoli seeds based on the ID numbers, but for some reason, the ID for broccoli was switched with the ID for tomatoes in the interaction.

Hey scrapman, you don’t have to worry about getting to the raid on time. If your farm isn’t in render distance the bots won’t spawn, and if you wait until like 12 pm the raid won’t happen at all. Please like so he can read this!

When you go out of render distance of your crop there wont be any raid timer or raids so your crops are safe. As soon as you come back you will receive the “unauthorized farming detected” message and raids will start again 😉

Totally worth it! I strongly suggest that getting the spud gun be your number one priority when starting a new game. It is relatively easy to farm, it's fun and makes early raid defense all that much easier. Large crops are going to attract predators from all angles. You can beat one foe over the head with your sledge hammer and line up a shot with the spud gun for enemies that out of melee range. I'm farming for the fully auto version now but cant find and darn pineapples!!!!

If you really will test the spud shotgun you can enter "/shotgun" in the write bar. (Without "".) You can do it on a new (survival) map/save if you want. (If it's not working. Goto: “C:/ or D:\installed folder (Steam or whatever)\Scrap Mechanic\Survival\Scripts\game” and find “SurvivalGame.lua” file. Open it with Notepad . Goto that line ("function SurvivalGame.client_onCreate( self ))" and change “if g_survival then” to “if true then”. (Switch "if g_survival then" to: "if true then", delete "if g_survial" and enter "if true then". And then try to type in: "/shotgun" again. (But without "".)))

Also spudling gun is good for hoards shotgun is good for boss due to it's high damage but low range and fire rate and normal spud gun is precision or small amounts of enemys and if the spudling gun had the same damage per shot as the normal spud gun it would be to powerful

HEY SCRAPMAN! Good tip for farming, the haybots and whipbots only can break wood at a certain height, so for the perfect height i found that the right heighy was when you could crouch underneath the horizontal wall. In my experience the haybot couldn't touch it and the greeny just chilled there.

Scrapman! Grow crops, then harvest them and don't plant again, that will reset the raid difficulty, and you should only get haybots and totebots, it worked for me, i've grown broccoli(and got tomatoes) and pineapples and never even seen a tapebot in a raid! Love your vids! EDIT: To fix the spudgun running glitch, just crouch and aim the spudgun, then it will return to normal

Use garment boxes for your defenses. They have 2 from the top durability. That one time you tried the spudling gun on a hay bot it took 7-8 shots and 5-6 shots on a farm bot.

I was playing last night. I was in desperate to find cotton as there was NONE within a 2 gameday drive of the mechanic station. So I loaded up on food and went searching. I found another mechanic shop, two demolished cities, some huge factories with concrete canals, and all kinds of other stuff I have not seen in any of the let's-plays I've watched. Long story short, it took me 10 real time hours to finally find cotton, but I also got hopelessly lost. Then a boss bot attacked me and killed me. I had to use my other car to try to go collect my good car and all of my stuff. It took 6 game days to drive to where I died. I had to kite two boss bots into deep water in order to double back and get my stuff. Then I finally recovered my good car and used it to tow my backup car all the way back home. In all it took me 17 hours to finally get cotton.

What an Epic video. Bravo!!!! You might want to create some external walls to funnel the bots into tighter groupings as the charge. Then mow them down with the Gatling gun.

I think that the gatling is worth it specifically for the boss or tight groups of robots, where you are more concerned with how fast they die rather than how many potatoes you are firing. Sure, individual spuds might do less damage, but you are firing more of them much, much faster. This means the enemies die faster, though it means you are burning more ammo.

I saw one of dieseldesigns’ videos and I saw an interesting defense tactic: he put saw blades along the length of his farm. They shredded greenies and hay bots that got too close. Maybe a cool strat to utilize on our own base

Tip: use water dispensers on the front to rack-doll the bots, that way they don’t destroy your base that much. Like so scrapman can see

If you zoom in and then shoot with the spudgun, u can run fast again, I had the same glitch on my world and I found that zomming in and shooting almost always works

ScrapMan is gonna need defenses. Something to fight off all the bots coming at him. Maybe some Spinning sawblade carousels to slice and dice the robots.

Put a lip around your farm attached to a piston and use it to just crush everything that goes after the farm. We're using it with 3 person multiplayer and it's easily clearing 5+ haybots.

The spuddling gun seems to deal the same damage as the hammer, but hits like three times faster than the normal gun. So if the hammer does 1 point of damage, and the normal gun does 1.5, than the spuddling gun would do like 3 points in the same amount of time. It's the same sort of trade off that a couple of games that I've played does. Slightly decrease the base damage for a significant boost in attack speed. And the charge up isn't much of a problem since most bots that you would encounter would generally spawn at a distance. So while can be used for single target and crowd control, it was probably designed as an anti-boss weapon.
