Thank you so much for this very interesting insight into the city. I could not find anything close to as good and have been searching alot. I'll go out tomorrow and try to find all those places.

I don't thinks so. I have been around long before you we're born. Left Reggio Calabria in 1959, was 18, been away for 65 years,we owned 350 plants of that bergamotto fruits, pick it one by one very gently, took it were the spirit was exastratcted with special machinery. I done that job, k ow more than you ever know about it.

Great to get a guide to this city. I'm creating a team for my fictional sports game, Gridball to represent the province and would love suggestions on a team name. My teams are named in American style. If you would like to offer a suggestion, here's a guide on what I'd want. 1: The team are female so not too masculine, 2: Something unique to Calabria would be good, 3: They play in neon green and vampire black, 4: The game is set in 1959 so nothing too modern for that era. 5: Nothing derogatory or offensive. As an example, their Italian rivals will be the Bari Emeralds, so called for their emerald green team colours.

Something like 90% of the world's bergamot fruit comes from Calabria. They're usually green in colour. So maybe the Reggio Bergamot or something like that.

I lived there for almost a full year. I absoluty hated it and couldn't wait to get the hell out. 95% of the people were very rude and didn't want anything to do with an American. The Main Street is nice but everywhere else is filth and garbage. I had a cockroach land on my head walking under a building and had a huge rat run out infant of me on a crowded street. Places don't open until 7 or 8 at night to eat so eating early is very difficult when staying in a hotel. On top of it all it's dangerous. If anyone is thinking of going I would say DON'T DO IT.
