I’ve had my Uno Drum for about a month or so now and I already loved it before this update. The sound, number of parameters, built in effects, performance features, and parameter locking made it a pretty powerful device on its own. Now with the Anthology Libraries, it’s become one of the most versatile drum machines on the market. Thanks for the walk through. Can’t wait to try them out on mine.

I got one, but how do you know which drum machine are you playing, there are just numbers, and no name ... Where is the cr 78 for example ? what number ?

the design! It's a mix of my 80s Schneider hifi stereo and some medical equipment. Ugly as hell. I don't want to even touch it... Basically this is what made me buy something else. I wish this was available from some third party modders with a sense for aesthetics. The internals and capabilities deserve a nicer unit, becaue technically it is a great drum machine for sure.

So you have to clear the kit in the Uno everytime you download a new kit? Does that also remove the patterns that are stored in the Uno? And with a kit download, can you make new patterns or is it only a demo song that you only can tweak arround? Or do you have really 41 drumcomputers in 1?

I watched this a month ago and thought it was worth considering as RD's look a bit big to lug about, So when I came across one with light scratches and a price tag of £130 couldn't really not say Yes please, bag it up.

Nice review. Direct audio from the unit would have been 👍🏽 the desk knocking made it difficult to isolate.
@MathHammer5 жыл бұрын
It sounds like there is a bit of latency between when you hit one of the touch pads and when the sound comes out.
@MoltenMusicTech5 жыл бұрын
No there isn't any but on the video when i have the mic up and the sound being recorded there's a delay because the mic is closer to the device than the speakers and when i sync up the directly recorded audio i sync it to the sound from the speakers rather than the sound of the finger hitting the pad which would then create an echo. I could eliminate that by using headphones but i don't wanna! So, no, there's no latency on the device - making gear videos has its challenges :D

I own one and there’s no latency.

This is a great drum machine, especially with the new sounds. I would like if they allowed the drum roll to be step programmable, and to be able to record stutter possibly. But the roll should be an easy feature to add. Also maybe more than 1 song mode memory.
@mickeybreezy3 жыл бұрын
You can in fact do those things. I use the roll for my hats like an arpeggio instead of programming them in each a step at a time.

I see there is a free editor from IKM for PC, Mac, and iOS, as well as a carrying sleeve that costs an extra 30 USD. I guess they left the case out of the package to keep the price down.
@MoltenMusicTech5 жыл бұрын
There is an editor which might make for easy automation in your DAW but it doesn't appear to have any additional features over the hardware as far as i can tell. I also think it's robust enough not to need a case.

Ah ok. He also says that the "bad" noise is only there when using USB power. There is noise and a bit of buzz on the samples which i took to be the 12bit nature of the machine. It's certainly worse on USB power and better on batteries but the hiss is there the whole time and I think it's part of the vintage/retro vibe. If you turn up the comp and drive and listen to it really loudly on USB power then there's some less than pleasant artefacts. Is it usable? Certainly! I guess it depends on what you're after.

Now i want my old *doncamatic* back... I don’t get this argument or why people make a big deal of it. Use what you like. For me, hardware is way more inspiring and fun to play. And they all have their own unique sound and feature sets, which makes any drum machine a good choice if you jive with it. No reason to question why people use what they use.

@danielgrace78874 жыл бұрын
@@HotStrange I prefer sample packs. I don't know what layering or processing (compression etc) is done on some samples, but they sound really phat. For a kick drum it's kind of like the difference between a baby tapping a toy drum and King Kong knocking on a big door. For example, check out Peace Love Productions. A lot of kick drums on drum machines don't sound suitable for Trance music for example IMO.
