I love it. Just sold my Elektron Machinedrum. They cant be compared of course. But I already made way more music on the Uno Drum. For 1/10 of the price. To me electronic music is meant to be easy and fun. This piece of plastic is easy and fun. And it sounds great for the price. Now thanks to you I discovered these ext packs 👍More fun. Great video ❤️

I find this „Drum anthology package“ idea very interesting. Because it is a „sound package” from outside environment, which actually means that IK Multimedia Uno Drum has re-writable sample slots. I think it could be interesting to see, if IK Multimedia would provide the end-users with tools to make their own drum kits, you can basically download those “Drummachine kit collections” for free online.

Sounds great! is it possible to bulk dump all 10 libraries to the unit and to leave the DAW behind?
@dennisristow21025 жыл бұрын
This seems like a great little unit. The only thing with a unit like this or an Aria TR-8 or even software emulations like UVI that I wonder about are combo rhythms. The original machines like a TR-77 or AutoVari 64 allow you to push multiple buttons and combine a rock beat with a samba or any of their various buttons for tons of combinations. The quirky thing I notice with my old machines is when I push two rhythm buttons at once for a combo playback, the beat isn't exactly a combo of the two. The output is a funky hybrid of the two with different pickup notes and even if they don't have swing functions, the swing does groove differently when I play the combos. I'd love for these machines, or a software developer to mimic this behavior. It won't keep me from looking at these machines, especially at the price point, but I'm not ready to get rid of my old machines so long as I have an audio to clock converter to use them in a modern rig. Other than that question, it's hard to have anything specifically negative to complain about at the price/feature options these modern machines give us, and for those of us who can't afford an authentic CR-78, this will open up a whole world of classic rhythm sounds.

Great vid. I don't why IKmm did not take the time to do the same. ONE THING...you play each of the separate kits, and show what IKmm states that they are, according to the website....the issue is (gauging from the machines I've owned and my ear), the IKmm website has a written list and a series of images. The order of the images do not match the order the written list (as far as I can tell). Can you post a list of the order of what sampled machine, from each of the Anthologies, you played? ie: "Anthology 3, clip 1: Korg blah blah, clip 2: other Korg"...etc. Thanks!
@StarskyCarr4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I'd assumed the files were in the same order as the lists on the website I show. I can't say for definite with some of the packs, but the Roland TR, and a couple of others seemed to be in the same order. I wouldn't know if the Rhythm Ace variations for example are correct.

Not per drum ie you can’t use the analog snare + a PCM snare . But you can have a PCM snare and analog kick... so you can mix and match in a kit but can’t add both to a sound. You do have 2 kicks so you can double up there.

@@StarskyCarr Yes, the Tr8s was on my hit list, right from the Sonic State review last year. I was really on the 600 mins (or 300 stereo) sample time. Loved all the ins and outs and the tight sounds. But, no chromatic sample play back and a missing song mode. I don't think these issues have been dealt with or they need dealing with. Looked at the used prices and they really look attractive now. I've got a feeling Roland won't be investing a lot of time turning the TR8s into a wonder box by undates. It is in my top 5 at the moment. It's Groove Agent for me until I grab some more info on the field.

The fact you can only load one Bank at a time... sad. How do you use it for a Live when you need like 10 seconds to switch machine, and have to turn it off/on with pop? Btw you'd have to wait one second before turning it on again to not destroy it. Or have one Uno Drum per Bank ; ) I've read somewhere the samples are not from the originals, but 100% inspired and recreated with near results. Maybe that's the reason why there are no Linn and DMX for now, as they might be a little more difficult to mimic. An SD card reader and USB multi-out would definitely make it a serial killer. Now, as it is and for 200 bucks, no reason to think twice.
