imo i think its an upgraded version of the Uno synth Pro Desktop. I own one and sounds great..any major differences between the two devices or is the layout only made easyer? a bit overpriced i think. and bye bye Minitaur? thnx for sharing
@AnalogKitchen Жыл бұрын
My minitaur would find it's way into my coffin for real. The layout is easier but it has more sound design options. Thanks for watching!

Glad you liked it! That's exactly that instead of reading the manual as that's something you n do right. More on why instead of how!

9:11 a few corrections here: SSI is a successor to SSM as a company, SEM is a "synthesizer expander module" created by Tom Oberheim way back when and its filters came to be known as SEM filters, they aren't used here. SSM filters are the ones used in the likes of Prophet 5, PPG Wave and Korg Mono/Poly. Now OTA filters are the ones used in SH-101, Junos and Jupiters.

This could be the mono synth I've been looking for. Need to hear it some more, but the features and functionality looks really, really good. Currently using Novation Cirquit mono station, but I am missing internal FX and a third oscillator for chord stabs. Also missing the "acid filter" from bass station 2. (But everybody needs a 303 anyway, and nowadays everybody can afford one too) Multiple envelopes looks good. Need to hear some patches that utilize this... As usual, I'll wait until these hit the second hand market, but it sure looks and sounds interesting... Thanks for great content Lucien, but remember to keep it real, you don't want to become another gear review show.

Hey @JH-lo9ut, thanks for watching. I usually don't do this but as it so happened, I'm so closely involved in this product and project that I wanted to show what was possible with it. IK have also specifically asked me to give my musicians view instead of the usual 'speaking manual' content. I think that worked out. So rest assured, I won't be changing the format.

@@AnalogKitchen thanks for the comment. Cool that you have been involved in development, and cool that IK seeks cooperation with a working musician like yourself. And thanks for great content, always.

Meh.

I'm sure some said something similar about the tb-303. This just seems like some hardware you could use if you wanted to. It definitely seems to contain the acid house sound tbh. I have a similar tool in my daw that is a triple oscillator. And it is honestly amazing once you understand simplicity and sound design.
@HIFI1965 Жыл бұрын
@@py_a_thon Just my reaction. Three oscillators and paraphonic, great, but filter is meh, envelopes are meh. Sure it sounds a bit like a 303, but the behringer TD-3 sounds exactly like it, which is now about $100. All of this is just to me - IK just flooded the content world with sponsored bits, and the product is not bad, but just kinda meh.
@AnalogKitchen Жыл бұрын
@@HIFI1965 When IK showed it to me at ADE I had my doubts. Please don't think that, since IK has sponsored this video, they've influenced my opinion about it. It's a cool synth that does a lot of things you know from others. But it also does a lot that others don't do. I think the filters are awesome and you have to work em and get the hang of them.
