This is the most heartwarming story of a rare & genuine hero. Not only the founder of Universal Studios but a Superman in saving so many Jewish lives by sponsoring & helping them enter the USA. A true legend. Bravo to him & all he saved.Plus his tremendous contribution to Universal Studios!

A minor correction, the ulterior “Hollywood” location was actually Flagstaff Arizona, and it came very close to overshadowing Los Angeles early on. New Jersey never had the local diversity in landscapes to be a successful location outside of studio environments. LA won out because the amount of microclimates and landscapes nearby were more extensive than Flagstaff had and thusly it was seen as more desirable
@shainazion40736 ай бұрын
But Fort Lee, New Jersey was the first Movie Capital of the world. We were where all the early Movies were made.
@narrowistheway776 ай бұрын
@@shainazion4073 and then it moved to Flagstaff, and then to Hollywood. New Jersey wasn’t seen as a viable location outside of studios very early on. Studios could be built anywhere, but location filming was incredibly expensive from a New Jersey standpoint because the diversity in nearby locations was very limited. Flagstaff only lacked ocean scenery, this was why Hollywood won out over Flagstaff. The point I was making was that New Jersey was never going to be a permanent location for the movie industry, no one stayed there, they either went to Flagstaff or Los Angeles and in the end Los Angeles won out for having the most access to diverse scenery nearby which kept production cheaper

Thank you for sharing this important history especially at this time when many countries, governments, media sources and people are turning more and more towards antisemitism in spite of the terrible things happening around the world towards the Jewish people and state. Thank you for pointing out that Carl Lemle's legacy lives on. I didn't know this, but I am glad to share it in order to help people understand that we all need to help the people who are being persecuted no matter who they are.

The Philippines president before WW2 in Asia-Pacific, Manuel L. Quezon did the same with the fleing refugees and worthy to be feature in your video. When all the countries, closed their boarders to jews, Pres Quezon give visas to those jews family and allow to migrate to The Philippines. With his effort, Filipinos are allowed to enter Israel visa free for three months, the only First World country that give that consession to Filipinos.
