The western media are full of China’s economy collapse while China is economically growing like mushrooms. The investment in the western countries is dropping by almost 30% as their economic is practically stagnant. Big companies from countries like Germany have invested in China because the economic growth in China is much higher and the energy price level is much lower than in the west. Since the purchasing power in China is much higher than in the west the domestic market of 1.4 billion people is multiple times bigger than in the USA or the EU. The report by the western media is misleading as it doesn’t depict the reality in China.

China's has a bigger debt problem than the US... FACT! Also... the decrease in foreign investment is evident in China even when looking at the foreign direct investment (FDI) data surveyed by the Chinese government. On the 18th, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange of China announced that foreign direct investment in China last year was only $33 billion, a decrease of 82% from the previous year. Compared to 2021, it is one-tenth the size, and the growth rate is the lowest in 30 years since 1992. The departure of global funds from the Chinese stock market is also steep. Last month, foreign funds withdrew 14.5 billion yuan from the Chinese stock market, marking the sixth consecutive month of net outflows. Over the past year, the China CSI300 index has fallen 18% and even recorded its lowest point in five years at 3179.63 on February 2. Oh, and BTW... foreign investment in the US last year DOUBLED!!! And it's not a "little hiccup" like you pretend, the Western world is calling it "de-risking" from China... and it has only just begun!

@@covertpuppytwo3857 When a foreign country invested in "x" country, they expect the money/profit will flow out of "x" country which is good for the foreign investor. That happens when the domestic investor (local competitor) is weaker. When Hyundai directly invested in china, Hyundai failed to compete against local investor/competitor such as BYD/NIO etc, therefor no profit/money flowing out of the country while local car company benefited tremendously. We are used to believe that foreign direct investment in a large market (especially the low tech country) will produce great profit. that's only true if you can be the top dog of the game. Stock market is a wrong way to view the economy, look at japan, It's stock market reached record high but japan is also in recession. For japan to keep the stock market high, is to keep borrowing and letting the inflation grows which eventually will explode. Just like crypto, it produces no products but it's so valuable because the left pocket and the right pocket keep over-buying and borrowing from each other, without any actual product. If the stock market goes up 15% today, will GDP be up by 15% too?

@@covertpuppytwo3857 If foreign investor can't compete with local players, it's normal for FDI to go down. Will it hurt the economy?, not really because more pie for domestic investor/company. Increasing FDI means less market share in terms of profit for the locals. Take "H" car's company for example, after investing billions, it failed to compete with local brands, that means less FDI while eventually the factory was sold for cheap. Stock market can reach record level high but at the same time the country can be in recession like Japan. So stock market is not an indicator of a country's economy. Today the stock is up by 15%, will the GDP goes up to 15% too? Just like crypto, it produces no physical product at all, but the left pocket and the right pocket keep buying each other crypto/stock and inflating the prices. Keep borrowing and letting inflation grows is the way to keep the stock market goes higher. The delusion that China has a bigger debt problem than the US is your problem. Does china owe the US or the US owe china? Does the US owe china, japan, s. korea, uk, germany and many others as bonds? or many countries owe china for providing infrastructures(BRI)? Remember US national debt (the highest in the world) does not include state's debt.

No doubt that foreign direct investment (FDI) is crucial for the growth of a host nation. FDI spurs economic activity, creates jobs, and acts as a catalyst for technology transfer. That said, China is already a technologically advanced, highly competitive and mature economy. It has in place, inarguably the world's most comprehensive industrial categories and a well-rounded industrial system. Besides, China is today, in no dire straits for foreign capital. At the end of the fourth quarter of 2023, the total domestic and foreign currency assets of China’s banking and financial institutions stood at 417.3 trillion yuan (USD 48 trillion). That is an increased of 9.9% over the corresponding period. Thanks to the gross savings rate of circa 46%, Chinese banks’ total assets is twice larger than their US peers. In fact, China should from now on become the major and a net exporter of FDI.
