I had this epiphany myself not long before you posted this video. But there's just one more step I was waiting for you to take that you didn't! (The "Weil" "Vial" "Vialism" connection I definitely did not catch - that was brilliant! And it supports my larger theory!). So, you keep saying Andre Weil is the real enemy. I think you're right! But here's the thing... I think Tyler is Andre Weil. I've been wanting to drop these notes somewhere online, and this video seems the best place since you've helped clarify things for me. So, here's where my thesis started, before watching your video: Clancy is Nico. The only time all nine Bishops appear on screen is in the Nico and the Niners video, which intercuts between them doing the neon gravestone ceremony and Tyler/Clancy in his apartment. However, these two scenes could be asynchronous. There's no correlation between them suggesting they take place simultaneously. Aside from that, every time the Bishops appear on screen at a time that directly correlates to Clancy (the end of the NatN video when they approach the kids while Clancy leaves the city; during the assassination scene at the beginning/end of The Outside video) there's never more that seven or eight at the most on screen. In the Navigating video, we see that Clancy has hallucinated Josh traveling with him ever since the Submarine (and maybe before then), as when he sees Torchbearer Josh standing before him, the Josh by his side disappears. This has happened before. In the Heavydirtysoul video, Clancy is in the back seat of the car with Nico/Blurryface in the front, driving. We know Nico is driving because Clancy says as much in the "I Am Clancy" video, saying he tricked Nico into taking him out of the city. In the HDS video, as the car starts to fall apart, at one point the camera pans from Clancy in the back to the front seat... which is empty. Nico has disappeared. Is this all a visual metaphor for what happens when his dark side (Blurryface) takes over? Next, the end of the Jumpsuit video shows the moments immediately following the car crash. Clancy goes to the trunk of the burning car, opens it, and pulls out... a Bandito jacket (which he is seen wearing throughout the video). Why would there be a Bandito jacket in Nico's trunk? And more importantly, why would Clancy know exactly where to find it? Also, if Josh was in the middle of the street, thus causing the car crash, where is he as we transition into Jumpsuit? In "I Am Clancy", he says he created a fiery diversion to escape from Nico... but where is Nico after the crash? It's easy to assume Josh was a hallucination in this video... but why would Clancy's hallucination of Josh cause *Nico* to crash the car? And why would Clancy take credit for it ("*I* created a fiery diversion.")? It kinda seems like Clancy was the one driving in the HDS video. Which, from the songs "Ride" and "Car Radio", we know he likes to do when he needs to get away from his bad thoughts. The rest of the Jumpsuit video shows him wandering Trench, hair having grown in so we can assume it's been a while. He's being watched by the Banditos - why has it taken them so long (all that hair growth) to say anything to him. In fact, why don't they directly intervene to stop Nico when he comes to reclaim him? He's presumably a helpless victim in their eyes, right? Or is he? Let's fast-forward to the Nico and the Niners video.When the Bandito's, led by Torchbearer Josh, enter the city, he and Clancy seem to recognize each other. In fact, they greet each other with an elaborate secret handshake. Where have we seen that handshake before? In the Stressed Out video, which depicts Tyler (Clancy?) as a kid, riding his bike to his friend Josh's house, where they do the same handshake. And what's the pre-chorus of that song say? "My name's Blurryface and I care what you think." What if that video depicts Nico's early years, before he became a Bishop and founded Vialism? And what if his line in Goner, "I have two faces, Blurry's the one I'm not" is about Clancy rejecting that dark persona? So... why would Josh lead the Banditos into the city to rescue this random stranger? Maybe Josh recognizes him as the same childhood friend he shared that handshake with. But then, why wouldn't they just attack Nico in the wilderness, instead opting to put themselves in more danger by entering the city? Well, maybe, when they saw him in the wilderness, they weren't sure if they could trust him. Maybe something had to convince them? Something like... maybe seeing your childhood best friend, who grew up to be the founder of a dark religion, having a mental break where he seems to be at war with himself internally? Maybe that might seem like a risk worth taking, indulging the side of him that wants to be an "adversary to the evil he has done" (as he says in Polarize). And maybe, to Clancy, Josh represents a purer side of himself that he hasn't felt since childhood (basically everything the song "Stressed Out" is about), and as he takes a ride outside the city to clear his mind, he hallucinates his childhood friend in the road, thus causing the car crash and beginning his dissociative episode. More supporting observations: - "I Am Clancy" describes the Saturday video simply saying, "Then Nico was betrayed." But Nico doesn't appear in that video. Only Clancy, "Josh", and a bunch of guards which might be bodies being "seized" by the other Bishops. But if that's so, why would Nico have accompanied him personally while the rest possessed bodies? - (Almost?) Every video from the Clancy era (including the Overcompensate video) depicts Tyler wearing a "stole" which is apparently something worn by ordained bishops. - Also, holyshit, I just found this wiki article while looking up the name of the garment from the last point: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Joseph_Clancy_(bishop) Final theory: I think this whole story is about Tyler/Clancy/Nico/(Weil???)'s inner struggle against his worst impulses. I think some heavy trauma in his youth (Car Radio + Next Semester) sent him down a dark spiral. I think he created (co-opted?) Vialism without fully understanding where it would lead, and once he realized what he'd done, he couldn't handle the consequences of his own actions (Choker), and this internal schism created the Clancy persona (and maybe Blurryface too?). At this point, I think he considers himself a hostage of the world he's created, and specifically of his fellow bishops, who see him crumbling, but need him as the figurehead of the religion. I think "Clancy" is the part of him that identifies with with his pre-trauma self, as embodied by his childhood best friend Josh. Which is why so much of the story appears to be Josh helping him break free, but Blurryface coming to take him back. (also literally embodied by the songs Backslide + Snap Back) I think the "Trench Trilogy" of videos shows this cycle, but things are different this time because Josh recognized his old friend having a breakdown in the wilderness, and he really DOES come to get him out this time. Clancy isn't imagining this. It's real. But that doesn't stop the darkness from taking over again, which is why he ends up "captured" again. In reality, I think he "choked" and returned to Dema, and promised his fellow Bishops this was the last time, he would not have another episode. I think he promised them, "Clancy is Dead." But one Bishop didn't believe him, and so during the gathering in the Saturday video, I think that Bishop tried to change him from a figurehead to a martyr by sinking the submarine with him in it. Thus, Clancy/Nico is betrayed. I think the back half of the Clancy album is all about Clancy sliding back into Nico again, only this time his friends are there to help him, and he finally comes to terms with the fact he IS Nico. I think the climactic moment of the Paladin Strait video (IF IT EVER RELEASES) will be Nico revealing himself to be Blurryface-era Tyler and speaking the final words of the album. .......all of which corresponds pretty nicely to your Andre Weil theory, I think! :D

This makes me think of disassociative identity disorder. Think of Moon Knight, how Marc will be doing something, but Steven wants to stop him, But then they both black out and wake up to everyone dead around him. Who did that? A third personality they haven't even met (Jake)

Yeah if you know anything about Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) or Other-Specified Depressive Disorder (OSDD) then you really picked up the signs of this in the Navigating music video. If the Navigating music video really speaks to Tyler's state of mind, this might explain why he doesn't want to perform the song live and that the song would've been removed from the album. It's revealing about what's actually going on in Tyler's head (maybe - all speculation still; could still be part of this story TOP is telling). And as we saw in the livestream, Josh is there to support Tyler even against Tyler's best wishes, echoing Josh's role in the Trench world. I think Tyler is both Tyler, Clancy, and Nico. I think Paladin Strait will be an attempt for Tyler, at least fictionally because we have no clue if this is actually real, to integrate both alters of Clancy and Nico and come to grips with the trauma that might have split his mind into two so long ago. After learning about DID from the show Mr. Robot and the KZbin channel DissociaDID, having multiple alters/personas doesn't have to be a bad thing. Some systems choose to integrate, some have no choice as integration happens automatically, and some choose to stay fragmented. It's no unheard of for "persecutor" type alters to integrate with their hosts, and to be honest with the amount of damage Blurryface/Nico does to Tyler when they "front", integration might be the only path forward. Also, regarding the Bandito jacket in Blurryface's car, many people with DID share that it's not uncommon for alters to front against the host's will to avoid engaging with certain activities. I think it was explained to me that a system might be driving to a therapist appointment, and halfway through the drive an alter might front to drive the system back home and miss the appointment. This is just an example of what can happen when alters/personas/identities aren't in harmony. This example also points to how it could have been Nico's car in HDS, and Clancy could have also put the Bandito jacket in the trunk. Tyler might know the jacket is there because Clancy is fronting and had memories of putting it there. Oftentimes alters have amnesia barriers and don't share all of the same memories, so Nico might not have known about the jacket but Clancy did.

Andre is the creator of Vialism and Dema, his alter ego Clancy now wants to destroy it "I'll morph to someone else. Defense mechanism mode" - he morphs to all this diferent personas as a defense mechanism because of his trauma. "Polarize is taking your disguises Separating 'em, splitting 'em up from wrong and right It's deciding where to die and deciding where to fight Deny, deny, denial" He has many disguises, he wants to split them from wrong (Nico and Andre) and right (Clancy), deciding where to die (give in to Dema) and deciding where to fight (with the Banditos against Dema), but ultimately he is always in denial of what is really going on. "Domingo en fuego I think I lost my halo I don't know where you are You'll have to come and find me, find me" When he is in a "domingo en fuego"="sunday in fire" (remember "sundays are my suicide days"), he losts his halo, becoming Nico or Andre, then he needs Josh, the Torchbearer, to guide him back to the right path.

I've always felt like this was the case myself, my theory is that Tyler was a bishop, perhaps the original bishop, and he changed over time and came to understand Vialism isn't the way, and so he keeps trying to escape, but his past self, Nico, keeps haunting him. And that's why at the end of Paladin Strait he is searching for Nico and confronts him, the sound of the door opening isn't a real door, he's unlocking that box in his head where he locked Nico away, he must confront his dark past to overcome it and be stronger to face the rest of his demons. He must embrace and overcome his monster, to find his true self. Just my theory anyway

You are such a genius! Tyler is Blurryface- he will be facing himself, the mirror moment and that part of himself has to die in order to live. You could also say it’s the shadow confrontation- he has to integrate it as Jung would suggest in psychology. Overall, It’s definitely a Christian ideal because you need to understand how and the appropriate times to do that, which is difficult to do without faith that someone is leading you in the right way. And in Isle of Flightless Birds it talks about the angels and demons molding our emotions. Thats who these Bishops are. The Fallen angels and their deceased kin (demons) speaking to us and telling us spiritual lies that we believe about ourselves and we name them Blurryface because the best trick of the enemy is to convince us he doesn’t exist. We have to die to the part of ourselves that believes these lies. Your soul knows good and evil, your soul knows both sides, and we need to pick our battle side. There is a LOT of evidence from ancient culture studies that backs up the truth of angels and demons. I could point you to scholars that discuss these supernatural evidences in scripture that the institutional ‘church,’ and its leaders have masked and led believers astray on. Morph is an incredibly deep song. It discusses the idea that numbers and math are all we are as a form when we die- 1s and 0s that can be copied. This is very different from an alive original spirit, and came from Bourbaki’s systematic mathematics which tried to prove the empty set is the foundation you need to create from. The Aristotelian enlightenment only depends on scientific (empirical) knowledge yet (stemming from math), it contradicts itself at its end because there is an end to the evidence and the love question still remains. It just circles ‘around’ the issue. But it’s a hard lie to get around because the other requires ‘blind belief’ or faith. Ironically, if you look into the mathematician Kurt Gödel, he PROVED in his incompleteness theorem that there will always be something bigger than we can conceive of. We were designed to have faith. ❤️

I always thought that Tyler is/was a bishop who came to the realization of the bad things he did, then tried to run away from Dema and this world, in DENIAL of the things he did and made other citizens do. 'I have killed a man and all I know is I am on the run and go,' 'Reminding me of who I killed inside my dream,' 'Nothing kills a man faster than his own head.' These are lyrics that make me think about Tyler, not literally killing someone, but making them committed to vialism since he knows that sometimes, to stay alive, you gotta kill your mind. But also, the mind is the fastest way to not make it through. And your theory makes perfect sense to me. I'm not a good theorist, and I can't explain or elaborate more than that, but I hope you get it.

The song "Two" is a very interesting song that most likely is related to the story, since the number 2 keeps popping up in the videos. If you think about it, obviously Tyler has "TWO" faces, Clancy and Blurryface. The song "Two" also has two different emotions. For example, the song is calming, but it can also make you feel anxious. Blurryface is anxiety and Tyler/Clancy is himself. Goner also has relations to this as well. In the song, Tyler says, "I have 2 faces, Blurry's the one I'm not." The 9th circle on the Blurryface album art represents Goner. The 9th bishop is Listo. Listo's name also comes from the lyrics in Ride, "LIST Of people." That "list of people" must mean Clancy and Blurryface. Then again, considering east is up it might not be Listo, it could be Nills. Nills comes from the lyrics in "GONER" "and beaten dowN, ILL Slip away"

I definitely think there is some truth to this theory. It makes me wonder if I figured out the end of the Paladin Straight music video. What if at the end, Clancy opens the door and sees his reflection. However, it won’t be of himself as Clancy, but rather Nico. Nico and Clancy are one and the same. They’re both Tyler. This ties in with your reference to Clear from RAB. The whole song is referring to how Tyler likes to refer to Christian themes and ideas in his songs without being explicitly religious. And when he unveiled the DEMA storyline for the first time with Trench, he actually said that this was an attempt to make a fictional world where he wasn’t a Christian. This would all tie together with a major tenant of the Christian faith: We can’t get rid of evil on our own; we need a savior. In other words, think of the answer to the question, “Why can’t an omnipotent God just rid the whole world of all evil?” The answer is that because we are all sinners, doing so by God’s standards would rid the world of everyone. By this ending, Tyler would essentially be saying that he can’t defeat the evil of DEMA on his own, because he is a part of it. Clancy and Nico are two sides of the same coin. So, if the double album theory is correct, I might expect a Christ-like figure to enter the storyline and defeat all of the evil of DEMA once and for all, while at the same time, saving Clancy from his alter-ego of Nico.

I find it curious that Nico's voice at the end of Paladin Strait is clearly just pitched down Tyler's/Clancy's voice. And it sounds almost somber, not menacing or mocking. I bet we'll see Tyler's face behind the veil in the music video.

I think that voice is Josh’s voice. In the live stream, after Navigating, Tyler said Josh has 3 parts like a triangle (or words to that effect). Josh wasn’t physically with Tyler when he was leading him, but he could project himself. Josh as a Bandito is the real Josh. I think the voice we always say is Nico or Blurryface is going to be Josh. Josh is the Torchbearer, he is the guide, he is the one with the plan, and I think he is going to be the one Tyler/Clancy sees at the top of the tower. I think Josh is going to help Clancy, maybe an ongoing helper, with Clancy’s mental health. Mental health is an ongoing battle, so I don’t think the ending will be a definite ending with all the answers to the lore. Clancy can’t do it alone, but he can with the help of Josh. Just like mental health for everyone, sometimes we all need the help of our friends, or family, or a mental health professional.

There’s something else in the song Clear that stands out to me, but starting off, the name Clancy to my understanding means “son of the RED warrior”, and in No Chances we hear who I believe to be maybe Nico or the bishops say “ride or die MY SON”, right? So, in clear Tyler states that he’s the “son of all he’s done” making his metaphorical father “all he’s done”, so perhaps Nico is metaphorically Clancy’s father and also everything “he’s done”

My theory for the number 25 is that it means the Trench and Scaled and Icy albums. In Snap Back he says "Running from a thing, that I kicked in '17" as in, "leaving" DEMA at the end of Blurryface, but then he says "Fool you once, it's been twenty-five times", as in all the songs from Trench and Scaled and Icy. So my interpretation of this is that he has been fooling everyone since 2017.

The Pantaloon Fall Away Johnny Boy Forest Addict with a Pen March to the Sea Kitchen Sink I think these seven songs are heavily connected to the lore as well since these were included in tour de Columbus ending that era that he "kicked in '17" they all have something to do with the creation of Trench i.e. the darkest part of Tyler's mind.

Hey, super interesting video! Just wanted to point out one detail that may add or take away from the whole thing. We know that Tyler does in fact exist as himself in the world of DEMA because in the Scaled and Icy livestream he is specifically referred to as "Tyler Joseph" by the hosts of Good Day DEMA. This makes me think that Clancy is very much just a codename used to protect his identity. Or perhaps Clancy is what he calls one half of himself like you mentioned in your theory. Either way, great video!

One other point about the song Clear. He references being a general. Which may tie into the source of the original Bourbaki name. Although they had different first names. The original Bourbaki was General Bourbaki, whom as I am sure you are aware, was a very successful French general. Until the battle where directly because of his decisions, he lost no less than 63,000 mens' lives. He tried to commit su*cide using a modern day, at the time, firearm, which was a blunderbuss with a large metal ball and powder. Even though he did not misfire, and even though he had it aimed directly at his head, he still was not able to take himself out. Instead, he dented his thick-ass skull. In one day, he went from succeeding at every task he tried his hand at to failing at every task he tried his hand at. For some reason, the group thought it would be hilarious to name themselves after this man. Because everything about his story just screams math, math, math. In the original video where I learned this info, many in the comments were drawing correlations between the general and the man in All My Sons who made airplane parts in the second world war. He also made a huge mistake and as a result, 21 men lost their lives, and as we know, the man goes on to take his own life, but successfully. This is what I know. I don't have any conclusions yet to draw from this data. I'm gonna go listen to Clear right now to see if there is anything else that is relevant.

Blurryface is the name of the entity Tyler becomes when he is being seized by Nico. 3. The city of Dema is a power grid, the Neon Gravestones are the batteries. 4. Torchbearer can shapeshift into a dragon.

I am completely on board with this theory, and it even fills in some of the holes of what I've been pushing around in my head. One thing I want to add to lend credence to your theory - especially on the evolution of Blurryface to Trench where Tyler splits his two faces into Clancy and Nico respectively. One specific lyric keeps coming up from Tyler - "I created this world to feel some control. Destroy it if I want." It was in Bandito and then repeated at the beginning of Overcompensate. But it was also the first thing Tyler said at the beginning of his Clancy livestream; as if to bring even more attention to it. This was always a weird lyric to me, because it pops up during lore-heavy songs (bandito, overcompensate) - but it always felt more like a message from Tyler. But it would make way more sense if that message from Tyler was part of the lore. Like the Tyler from the Blurryface album saying he's making this distinction between his two faces, but he needs an arena for them to duke it out. That all said - I think there are a few permutations of your theory: 1. Exactly as you said - Nico isn't real and Clancy is just Tyler identifying himself with the non-blurry face. 2. None of Trench -> Clancy is real and it is more of a simulacrum of Tyler's experiences brought into story-form. 3. Nico is real, but he and Clancy can't be in the same place at the same time since they're the same person. Fun afterthought - I wonder if the something soft and soaked in pain that the leader of the bad guys sang was "Sahlo Folina" - I'd sure call him crazy.

That could just be unreliable narration. After all, Tyler's Clancy is the only character who actually talks about Nico. And we had letter from a Clancy who's bishop was Keons, describing Keons as a figure they looked up to and felt safe with. But Nico is, apparently, only seen when Tyler sees him. Unlike Torch-Bearer, we never see him on his own, doing anything Tyler is not aware of.

It could be the shame of failing to follow through when someone fails or it could be the shame of slipping back and even thinking of it which could also be construed as a failure (both types of failure being self imposed thoughts/feelings).

"Little less concerned/when there's nothing in the tank" could be a reference to the lethargy that comes with deep depression and how it's easier than recovery because the lethargy often prevents people from following through on bad ideas, while recovery can give the energy to do those things so the thoughts are less frightening when you know you couldn't do it. Sorry for seeming like such a downer, it's a favorite and I still think it's extremely hopeful. Like most of their songs, it's double sided and that adds to it's beauty.

You are such a genius! Tyler is Blurryface- he will be facing himself, the mirror moment and that part of himself has to die in order to live. You could also say it’s the shadow confrontation- he has to integrate it as Jung would suggest in psychology. Overall, It’s definitely a Christian ideal because you need to understand how and the appropriate times to do that, which is difficult to do without faith that someone is leading you in the right way. And in Isle of Flightless Birds it talks about the angels and demons molding our emotions. Thats who these Bishops are. The Fallen angels and their deceased kin (demons) speaking to us and telling us spiritual lies that we believe about ourselves and we name them Blurryface because the best trick of the enemy is to convince us he doesn’t exist. We have to die to the part of ourselves that believes these lies. Your soul knows good and evil, your soul knows both sides, and we need to pick our battle side. There is a LOT of evidence from ancient culture studies that backs up the truth of angels and demons. I could point you to scholars that discuss these supernatural evidences in scripture that the institutional ‘church,’ and its leaders have masked and led believers astray on. Morph is an incredibly deep song. It discusses the idea that numbers and math are all we are as a form when we die- 1s and 0s that can be copied. This is very different from an alive original spirit, and came from Bourbaki’s systematic mathematics which tried to prove the empty set is the foundation you need to create from. The Aristotelian enlightenment only depends on scientific (empirical) knowledge yet (stemming from math), it contradicts itself at its end because there is an end to the evidence and the love question still remains. It just circles ‘around’ the issue. But it’s a hard lie to get around because the other requires ‘blind belief’ or faith. Ironically, if you look into the mathematician Kurt Gödel, he PROVED in his incompleteness theorem that there will always be something bigger than we can conceive of. We were designed to have faith. ❤️

First of all, congrats on all the views! I've been following your channel for a bit and I think that's the most I've seen. Well deserved! Either the boys have something else up their sleeves or the Paladin Strait video is gonna be loooong because we're still missing so many puzzle pieces. What I think we are dealing with here is an alternate universe Tyler created to be able to externalize and navigate what was going on with himself and Blurryface in his head. So we have Tyler/Blurryface and Clancy/Nico. But there is a sort of inception factor going on because Tyler is disassociating by creating the world and then Clancy is disassociating inside the world. And the two worlds are constantly bleeding into each other. I disagree about the number of bishops. I think there are nine because Clancy is somehow also Nico. I do however think there is an outside force we haven't met yet according to one of Clancy's letters (022 03moon 18). I also think we haven't met the third person of the Torchbearer's "triangular existence" (quote from Tyler from the livestream) Every time I think I have a descent grasp on what's going on...some new angle is discovered and I have to rethink everything. I do still believe Clear holds a lot of answers as to WHY Blurryface and by extension Trench/Dema were created. I'm trying not to get my hopes up but it would be awesome if that song made an appearance somewhere soon. I could be way off base here because I don't have a lot to go on other than a couple clues and a hunch but I think we may be getting a big announcement soon. I think they may be leaving their record label. Did you know that FBR hasn't really existed as the entity that TOP signed with since June of 2018? Around the same time Josh accepted the award for most dedicated fan base by himself and said Tyler was "severing ties with Dema" That could have just been a cryptic one off leading into Trench, but like you said, when it comes to TOP , it's hard to brush things off as coincidence. To clarify, the label technically still exists but it was absorbed into Elektra in 2018 and merged with 300 Entertainment in 2022. We all know how important creative control is to Tyler so if those conditions changed in the merger, he may have wanted out and made a new deal that ends with this record. Anyway, just some thoughts.

I fully agree. A few details that I think help to tie thing together include the way that Blurryface is represented by the color red, and the disappearance of blue from the narrative. I think some people have been partly right in saying Clancy and Blurryface are connected bc they are both Tyler, and I think Clancy represents the blue part of the narrative. If Clancy represents the clarity and joy that Tyler has found, Blurryface represents the parts of himself that mask Clancy. This also fits with Clancy being represented by a mask with a prominent red stripe, the color of Blurryface. Blurryface and Twenty One Pilots' music since that album came out, has layers, and I believe Clancy represents the deeper layers of the music, the "hopeful undertone" which I also believe is represented by blue. There's a whole other arm to this theory about Clancy being related to blue. It's possible that the heavy featuring of black in both Blurryface and Trench was an "oversaturated" blue (the cryptic way he describes his jumpsuit in NatN is the way that color saturation is described, high = heavy and low = light). Yellow would come into play as another kind of disguise for blue to show itself again after being hidden on Blurryface, related to the way Chlorine is normally yellow, but appears as blue in their videos, plus Clancy is an anagram for "Cyan Cl." I'll stop there but I think bf being red and Clancy being blue/yellow/black depending on the context (banditos also wear a dark green which might be like a combination of all three, and the true opposite of red?) makes sense with the way those characters have been portrayed.

Clancy has long had an established connection to the bishops, first the picture from the journals that’s title was self.png and it was andre weil and a child. Plus Clancy having the ability to seize bodies just as the bishops do. My theory is that maybe the whole time the bishops were testing Clancy to prepare him to be the nineth bishop or maybe even he already was but after finding the original clancy letters (some of the clancy letters are written from a perspective that see Tyler Clancy doing things) he took on that name to distance himself from the persona that the bishops were trying to force on him. Now that he’s own his own with the ability to seize bodies he will either fill that slot as a bishop or take down that side of himself. apologies if this makes no sense my thoughts are very scrambled.

I think it would help everyone in this conversation if we all learned more about Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and Other-Specified Depressive Disorder (OSDD). Tyler is done running from himself. This whole album shapes the idea to meet yourself "on the other shoreline". So (Tyler/Clancy) is going to meet Nico the missing part he tried to run away from for so long. Clancy has become in as in Overcompensate explained a prodigal son, a saint spreading his own propaganda just to become what he swore to fight. A never ending circle thats gonna swing way far as he seperates himself from Nico and so from his fears and his inner self. Thats something which feels natural about this album, because it doesn't deliver through strict concepts to holding control over an religion we try to fight like in Trench. The Album feels for me like a mutual way to rely back on your inner feelings and finding peace in broken parts of yours. Which can be so scary you can forget what kind of loss actually stands behind those fears and who the person behind Nico really is😢

Yes, there is a letter like that. However, a later letter from Clancy appears to claim that was an out-of-body experience. The "I Am Clancy" video also seems to confirm that. (Definitely watch that video if you are trying to catch up again). Fair question though!

I believe it is Andre speaking at the end of Paladin Strait. I think he is really the one behind that "pitched-down voice". However, I am not sure who Tyler will actually come face to face with, based on this theory. It could be Blurryface (or someone he thinks is Blurryface) or it could be Andre himself. What do you think?

@@perligo That’s interesting. I think it could be either. But, if Paladin Strait is truly the end and we don’t get another song or anything, I think is more likely to be Blurryface because that would mean that the story ends when Tyler “accepts” that Blurryface will always be a part of him, because the battle against insecurities and dark thoughts never really end, you only confront them. But also it could be the the beginning of the story or the cycle, with Paladin Strait connecting directly with Fairly Local.
