I love you ranboo. As a person who's cousins are in foster care (13 and 10), I appreciate that so much. My fam and I tried to have my cousins live with me, but it was so...traumatic. I was in 5th grade when they lived with me and my brother and it was basically as if me and my brother were living by ourselves because of how much attention we got from our parents at that time. Everything's better now, but my cousins don't live with me anymore. Idk if they've been adopted or not. I haven't heard anything from either of them in 4 or 5 years.

what they said about the pandemic making people extremely defensive of their favorite content creator hit so hard. it's precisely why I had to FORCE myself to stop watching Ranboo for a while. seeing critique of Ranboo felt the same as critique towards myself. I wasn't hunting people down on twitter to fight them but it was still an incredibly unhealthy attachment. hearing them say they don't want those people here watching the steam was so reassuring even though it wasn't 100% directed at me. like it was confirmation that I did the right thing to heal and learn about parasocial relationships. If you're anywhere near that mindset with any content creator PLEASE no matter how hard it is, stop watching them. stop watching anyone who collabs with them. remove them from your life for a while until you truly don't feel attached to them. trust me, when you're at that point it isn't easy to stop, you'll cry a lot and feel like you're abandoning a friend. but that's why you need to do it.

Weird shorts was a criticism of the dsmp era weirdness. Ran is generally trying to weed out the people who only watch him for that content- the shippers, boundary breakers, etc. Racism is an issue- some cool poc artists just did a little tweet saying something along the lines of ‘there’s not many big black bootwt art accounts, so promote yourself’ and tagged ranboo for traction because he likes art (obviously) and privileged white people… kinda said some really odd shit. Odd and racist shit. Basically implying that they were guilt tripping and then using some not so good stereotypes. This stream (and your comment) was before this happened, but recently someone did literal blackface for a c!ranboo cosplay. It’s a major issue. Again, some fans are just a bit much. On the artist front, artist accounts are pressured into making art, and if they don’t they get threats? But I think the comments are more about people drawing ran with a chest, especially in miss beloved art, getting told they’re terrible people meanwhile ranboo is completely fine with it. It’s just. In a community this big you get some people who aren’t exactly aware. That’s the context. I would stay on KZbin and twitch, honestly. Ranboo talks more in depth on his tumblr though if you’re curious. (Also side note: saw your pfp and freaked out thinking you were a dr*am stan haha)
