Something I deducted that I’ve seen few people realize, the jumbled emails you get at the beginning are from old employees who, when fired, are turned into mice. It explains why the email tells you to hide in a hole, as well as explaining the smart mice and why the company got a cat. The old employees are turned into mice and they’re hiding in the office walls; the smart mice are people.

it makes so much sense that the company is fair folk run, thats why all the fae entries were incorrect or misleading. eg. the 'fae feast' entry telling you to eat the food because it would be rude to refuse a gift when the common mythos states that eating fae food entraps you and that taking a gift implies you owe a favour to the gift giver

It was unicorn fungi because when doggos are infected with the fungi, they feel the need to dig SUPER deep holes and try to get as close to the soil as possible. They dig in and around the house as well, which explains the floorboards. The puppy was probably inside the massive hole still digging, which is why it was nowhere to be found

IM SO PISSED AT THE UNICORN FUNGI ONE OMG there is absolutely ZERO mention of holes or splintered floorboards in the floor roots entry, and the holes and splinters are the main focus of the call. * THE MAIN FOCUS OF THE CALL IS NOT MENTIONED AT ALL IN THE FLOOR ROOTS ENTRY. * In the call there is a large focus on the dog, and the fact that there was a giant hole, splintered floorboards, and something going on with the dog, which are all mentioned in, and are the focus of, the unicorn fungi entry, but not even in the floor roots entry. Ranboo literally looked at the unicorn fungi entry, held his mouse/arrow over the bit that said "inside the home", and said "nope cant be this, the holes are inside the home" when the entry LITERALLY SAYS THAT AFFECTED PETS WILL DIG HOLES INSIDE THE HOME. there is zero evidence that it was floor roots. - the main focus/concern of the call isn't mentioned, (the holes and splinters) - There's very little sign of roots (splintered floorboards look very different from roots) - there's a single line that mentions pets, compared to Unicorn Fungi where it is the entire focus - And one of the main things in the call, the giant hole. Tell me how floor roots could create a giant gaping hole in the first place. And then the guy doesn't notice any roots? BECAUSE THERE WERE NO ROOTS. there's only two things going for the roots, and only one is rational. The fact that the dog is missing, since its mentioned in the floor roots one that its a strangling hazard for pets, and that if you put a doll out for it the doll will vanish. "...By morning the dolls and roots will be gone..." which implies that if it grabs a living thing, the same thing will happen, and they'll both vanish. (this is the only logical argument) and then the holes, which is literally just incorrect. "the floor roots cause holes, even though its not mentioned at all in the entry" Anyways ramble aside, sometimes you just read things wrongs or just have a lapse in judgement. It just annoys me that people are saying "no no, floor roots make sense" when it doesn't.
