I think he is over flogging this issue. I wish this level of energy was expended on Umahi, who is currently managing Trillions of Naira worth of contracts, including the Lagos-Calabar white elephant project. “If Nigeria succeed, we will all be good for it” This is how to scrutinise public officers and get useful information for the public while keeping them on their toes rather than engage in undignified, insightful, argumentative and distasteful approach to journalism (like some attack activated media houses) that will end up exposing the nation and creating bad image and mockery, tension, unnecessary agitation and importantly fail to address the real issues or provide adequate information for public consumption. Kudos to channels TV for their consistency along the line of nationalism and patriotism to the nation.

It is totally wrong for the media to call a minister who already has been answerable to the law maker on an issue that has not been concluded yet to come to defend or explain herself in a public television. When Nigerians want to know it should be in the proper setting. That is what the law makers are therefore to demand accountability and not the media. This is totally wrong and it is not done in any civilized society. The media should obtain the outcome of any investigation from the sources involved. If Channels Television was so much interested in this matter they should visited the minister in her office, then they can report their finding to the public. I am sure the Ministers in Nigeria aside from the Minister of Information whose job is centered around the media, receive clearance from the President before any appearance in the public media. The Ministers should not be questioned in the public domain as if in court. Nigerian television programs are being watched outside Nigeria and producers and anchors should be aware of this. This lady is a Federal Minister and not a private individual.

As Nigerians, you can show your bias when it comes to your vote but, it is dangerous for nation building. If we want the society that we preach, if we want transparency and accountability we have to stay informed and be interested in what government is doing and keep asking the right questions. Always seek more information and criticise based on verifiable facts and not emotions, hypocrisy, bias or ethnicity. that is the only way to get the best out of our peculiar system. Our crude mentality of coercing public officers with lies, unfounded hatred, half truth and bias based on our naivety, ignorance and our political inclinations will only justify their refusal to come to the public with information and the drama and corruption will continue
