Always been proud of Ms Saina Nehwal. Once again she smashed it on 'what is required to get more Olympic medals as a country in various sports'. Want medals? Make sports mandatory in every school starting with 1st grade through 12th grade, and continue with various sports recognition through colleges and Universities. In countries that get 50+ medals, various sports are introduced and explored as part of the school curriculum beginning 1st grade (5-6 yr age), without sacrificing the traditional education. There is a sports culture in these countries, in which all parents get involved in their children's school sports, as well as after-school sports. Children learn to manage their time and become efficient in whatever they do. Many of these children will not make it as professional athletes, but it creates awareness and appreciation among all for those who make it. This creates a much bigger fan-base for every sport. Consequently, even small local businesses provide sponsorships to children's sports league. BTW, even for Ms. Nehwal-- Prakash Padukone is the 1st men's badminton player from India to be World No. 1 in 1980.😉

The problem is these people don't get support and recognition even if they win!! Do you even know about Thomas cup which is literally the Badminton Men's world cup! It's as old and prestigious as cricket world cup and India won that just recently as underdogs... but no one knew that, there were not any road shows or chief ministers felicitating the athlethes!!!! Only Modi felicitated them that's why Saina respects him!! Do you even know that Leander Paes won doubles in fricking Wimbledon????? No one knows that... So stop acting as if out athlethes are not winning so their sport isn't getting recognition... hard truth is they are not getting recognition and development in their sport even if they win something big 😑.... Even Neeraj despite winning gold in Olympics, world championship, doha leagues doesn't get as much recognition fame branding as kohli or rohit.. so Stop your BS and admit that Cricket has overshadowed other sports.
