The Instagram body thing really irks me. I have family members with the slim waist/curvy shape/big butt body type and it's alllll natural for them (and not nearly as exaggerated as on insta). I also understood at a really young age how much unwanted attention women with that shape got. I used to watch how men looked at my female family members when they passed by, but you don't see those conversations on Instagram.

Zeta Burgess yeah it’s not even just “not everyone,” it’s basically “literally no one except Instagram models.” The full on shape is virtually unobtainable without a combination of cosmetic surgery, a personal trainer, and photo-editing, which sort of makes it even more dangerous than past body ideals because it’s just not obtainable for the average person.

I definitely agree with the fact that insta bodies have changed how I view myself at least. I have always been a very slim girl, and I'm not complaining, but I've always wanted curves and booty. I've been told that I'm not sexy, not a "real woman," and that I'll always only be cute and small. I think Instagram reinforces any beauty standard you have yourself. The explore feed is so personalised that if you think skinny blondes are beautiful it is gonna reinforce that and if you think plus size latinas are beautiful it's gonna reinforce that. When I hear what other people think is the "Instagram" look it is completely different from what I see in my feed. I don't think it's healthy to see just one type of look no matter what that look is. And god forbid you accidentally click a anorexia post, you will be down the pro ana hole so fast it will make your head spin. Train your Instagram algorithm to show you a wide variety of people and you will feel so much better about yourself.
