In this second video for my entry into the Great Guitar Build Off 2021 I put the finishing touches on the neck for this guitar.
Besides doing the headstock veneer and two inlays I also make sure to do the best fret job I can.

@UnquendorGuitars
@UnquendorGuitars 3 жыл бұрын

Hi Daniel, what kind of frets you use in this project? The job for the inox ones is much more tough because of the higher hardness, I guess. You think, in this case, is necessary liveling and crowning for prevent any buzz? You have ever experienced the rubber frets? Sorry for so many questions.
@UnquendorGuitars
@UnquendorGuitars 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Adrien., I'm using extra hardened Nickel Silver frets, comparable to Dunlopp 6105. Stainless Steel frets are harder to work with but they also require leveling, re-crowning and fret end dressing. I haven't even heard of rubber frets before.. But I think you mean fret polishing rubbers. Yes I used them until not so long ago when I switched to using the Dremel. They also work great but a Dremel is a lot faster and with a better result in my opinion.

Just curious but what does unquendor mean?
@UnquendorGuitars
@UnquendorGuitars 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Meshugganator08, Thank you for asking. "Unquendor" comes from Quenya, a language invented by J.R.R. Tolkien and translates to "Hollow Land" in English which in its turn roughly translates to "Holland" in Dutch. As I am from the Netherlands/Holland and a huge fan of fantasy novels I started using Unquendor as an online alias over 20 years ago. It seemed the logical name to use for my guitars as well.
