Really, from my experience trying to do this, it seems that the season doesn't change to Summer when you're on the island this exploit is found on. I suppose so you can still be able to leave the island, but your character can always Zoom to somewhere else, so if it were for that reason, that wouldn't make too much sense.

That jump cut at 0:22 is way too suspicious. I am kinda inclined to say that a tool was used to access the area. Especially since there are people in the comments saying they couldn't get past that point on the obelisk. Just making this comment to save folks some time trying to do it themselves.

Just to spare everyone s time, theres an impossible jump at the moment he cut, and jumping from the black crystal thing to the edge of the next rock doesnt seem possible either. He just used whichever tool to fool people and get views

It's actually been around almost as long, the first Dragon Quest Monsters was on the Game Boy, but it didn't really hit its stride until the DS with the Joker trilogy.

The Monsters series is a spin-off of DQ5 (the first one to have monster taming), which predates Pokémon. And the very first series to have monster taming is SMT (called just MT at the time).

I am someone who is bored out of their mind after a couple of hours in any pokemon game. That said, have had loads of fun with all the DQM games, highly recommended.

These games have been around for ages. Even Dragon Quest V, a game released in 1992 (Pokémon was released in 1996 in Japan), had monster recruiting. So yeah… not really a rip off. Also, there have been monster taming games since the 80s. So, if anything, everyone is ripping off Megami Tensei right?

Pokemon created a perfect formula for battles, catching monsters, story, dex etc. and they all copied pokemon in the end so yes pokemon is not the first monster taming/catching game but it perfected and popularise it and created the genre its self. No body cares about the megami monster taming, or dragon quest 5 monster taming mechanic until pokemon came it. Thats a fact that still carries today and why almost all people in the world a gamer or a non gamer associate monster taming/catching equals pokemon.
