Nice run mate, good too see you still pulling good weight out. I am still working the spot I got the big nugget from, got a 47 gram last two weeks ago and I am hoping to go back this weekend weather permitting. The wife has no problems me going for gold now haha. Thanks to you're videos that got me into this great hobby, hope to see more great footage soon. Cheers Dan HH and GL

+Tanker 333 wow 47g! Another nice find. Well done mate, you're obviously in a hot spot so keep at it. I'd say that area will yield a lot more for quite a while so leave no stone unturned. Keep me posted. JG
@SuperReefdog8 жыл бұрын
+Jay Gold heading back after work, I would say there's way more gold in this spot, gold Is very course/rough and I was told that means the gold hasn't travelled far, even the smaller pieces are rough so all signs are positive. Yeah the 47 gram (once again the adrenaline was pumping and the hands were shaking) piece is the third biggest piece of this patch so far.
@JayGoldNuggets8 жыл бұрын
+Tanker 333 Awesome. Yeah that's correct, spiky gold hast moved far from the source, so carefully work the area. If it's deep soil, try general, otherwise use high yield with the sensitivity as high as the ground can handle. Good luck and keep me posted. JG

Well Well Midas strikes again :-) another nice day, its patches like this we all dream of, well done and some nice finds. It looks like you are adding to that menagerie J, now the rhino and scotty dog nuggets have yet another companion……………the sheep. Its uncanny how these bigger nugs you are finding resemble animals, why not a truck a car or a plane?? go figure mother nature truly is awesome. Look forward to your next post cheers for now aar1

Yeah isn't it amazing. It makes me more attached to them which will make it very hard to sell them when i need to. haha. I might just keep the zoo and get rid of the little ones. Thanks for your support and stay tuned. The next vid will finish off this patch which yielded about 75g. will be hard to beat for a long time yet. I hope you're getting a few. JG
@aar17848 жыл бұрын
Hi Again J. I reckon you are right it would hurt to part with the zoo. WOW a 75g patch congrats on that one I'm still dreaming about an outing like that, when do you think you will get " day 3 " posted, can't wait! I haven't even been out for a couple of months just to busy, I guess I'll just have to quench the thirst watching your vids........keep'm com'n J Cheers aar1

Love your vids mate, last time I went detecting was in 2001 with the "new" GPextreme between Laverton and Leonora great fun...wouldnt mind taking up the hobby again. You just cant beat the thrill of digging up a nice nugget no matter how small. cheers.
@JayGoldNuggets8 жыл бұрын
Gday SAFS, you should get back into it. There are some pretty good detectors out now that are finding a lot of gold the older ones have missed. But youre spot on, digging up gold is a great feeling, similar to the sound of a head shooting a feral cat. I hate those things. haha. All the bets mate. JG
@cyclo3608 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, I reckon I would have to sell some guns to finance a new detector (7000) , whats your opinion on the ML5500?
@JayGoldNuggets8 жыл бұрын
Ive never heard of the ML5500. There is a Minelab GPX4500 and a GPX5000, they are very similar detectors and still very capable machines. You can still buy them brad new and are far cheaper then the GPZ7000. A lot of guys swear by them and prefer them over the newer model and are still finding nice nuggets with them. But i love my GPZ.

Hi Jay thanks for giving up your time to teach novices like me, so well done & is it possible to make reasonable money prospecting as I'm retired & living on my Army pension!
@JayGoldNuggets8 жыл бұрын
Gday Rob, no probs. Its a labour of love. It all depends on what your ida of reasonable is. Back in the day, you could do quite well, but unfortunately most of the gold is already found and days like this are a rarity. You can still do ok, but your time is better put into something else if you want to make decent money. For me its just a hobby that pays for itself, with a little bit extra. Still a great way to get outside, get sine exercise and find a bit here and there. All the best. JG
@Rob-pq7gq8 жыл бұрын
Hi Jay thanks for yr reply & committed to prospecting as purchased SDC - 2300, pin pointer, maps, compass, etc. I can do 3 days per week & camp overnight weather permitting as there's not much work for burnt out soldiers once yr out of the Army.
@JayGoldNuggets8 жыл бұрын
+Rob 303 awesome! Congrats on your new purchase. You'll find that you won't need a pinpointer with the SDC as it does a great job of pinpointing itself. I'd return it if I were you, you only really need one when youre digging a very deep, large nugget to find it exact location as to avoid hitting it (devaluing it).The SDC is a great beginners machine, and it comes into its own in old workings and Mullock heaps. That's where I'd spend most of my time if I were you.
@Rob-pq7gq8 жыл бұрын
Hi Jay thanks again as your input is invaluable to me & and see your using a SDC-2300 so guess its little brother to the GPZ-7000. I've used my SDC only in the back garden, parks & beach to gain experience & amazed by the small items it finds & have purchased my 'Miners Right'.

@JayGoldNuggets8 жыл бұрын
+Allan Bond Not really! I was kinda upset, I thought I'd get at least 2-3g out of them. But it totaled less then a gram. The big rock had a large, paper thin piece of gold inside it, you can see it in the top right hand side of the video thumbnail. A little disappointing but I certainly can't complain.

What's the about the average income from doing this for about a month? I've always wondered
@JayGoldNuggets8 жыл бұрын
+Dumbo sometimes $100, sometimes $5000 (rarely). It all depends on how long you go out for, how good a prospector you are, how good your detector is, how productive the area is and how lucky you are. You then have to factor in fuel, equipment and supplies, so sometimes you actually loose money. Gone are the days of frequent big hauls, most of the gold has been found. For me it's a labour of love, and a good excuse to get some exercise in the bush and hopefully find a nugget or 2. Hope this cleared things up for you. JG

I have a couple of comments to make about part one and part two of this series. I didn't watch to all of part two as I got a little tired of you showing us how far away the last three or four pieces were found. If you were to tell us rather than show us that would be enough. Secondly, showing us what a good signal sounds like is ok, but to wave the coil over it ten or twelve times is a bit annoying. I know you are excited about your finds as we are excited for you, I feel you could cut your video length in have if your were to cut out the unnecessary bits. Thank you for allowing me to comment.
