If anyone cannot get their lift to work, go to your button BP try to Get All Actors Of Class and then call your Go Up and Go Down functions from there. Plug it into a Begin Play

i wanted to take a moment to let you know, ive tried a few times to get into using unreal engine, and frankly its felt like hitting my head against a wall. i like your videos because theyre easy to follow along with (although i do sometimes have to back up to make sure im getting what youre saying) and make it feel like im making tangible progress. i have pretty limited time to work on this with various obligations, but your speed keeps the videos short enough that i can actually get through one or two before bed. thankyou very much for this series

Don't worry about quick - we can always pause/rewind (all other Unreal tutorials are Zzzzz slow - so it's good to have faster ones as an option like yours). Since you go fast, turning the bg music far down like you did now makes it wayy easier to concentrate (this one's perfect) - thanks!

Thanks for the feedback man really help me get an idea of what's going right and what I can improve on! Thanks 😁

Thank you. Inside the time line there are a few options on the top. One is outplay and another loop. With those 2 on, you don't need the custom event.

Started learning UE4 a couple months ago and I can tell your channel is going to help me develop my game, so thanks in advance. One thing I can't find a tutorial for online so far is how to enable a "down jump" where you hit the down button and jump button together to jump down through specific platforms. If you could break this down in a video sometime I'd really appreciate it. Keep at it dude, these videos are great.

No worries dude thanks for the support! ill see what I can do when I've finished my tutorial series :)

Hey, man, you can also reverse your timeline instead of copy/pasting all of the nodes to call a new custom event for the lift. These tutorials are really good though.

Hey, at 3:30 You also need to cast to playercharacter BP otherwise half of the times the collision won't work/trigger the launch. I think you are going way too fast with the tutorials and when you forget something, like connecting the overlap event node with the getallactorsofclass at 3:39 don't just edit the video, let the people know!

The Swinging mace trap... starts off hanging straight down and then teleports up to the starting position. To fix this, I put in a SetRelativeLocation before calling the Swing function and set the relative location to the starting value for Y.

Would have been better if you actually made the traps damage the player instead of just being visual, but it's a start.
